This might be buried under the mountain of salt because of the new patch, but since I returned to the game I’m having a blast again, so thank you for your work.
I wanted to share some feedback in regards to battle pass, this is the 1st time I get to experience one with the hunt and while I like the idea of it, I’m really not a big fan of the spanish conquistador theme, it feels way to modern for Conan, I understand some people might like it but it feels like a deviation.
Could you fellas PLEASE do a Kush/Darfar true savage battle pass, expansion one day? I cannot believe you wouldnt have a lot of people intereseted in this. I would love to be able to create me a zulu village instead of a huge fortification / castle.
Like this palisade camp idea for Zingara, have thorn brush/unscalable walls, have tents for crafter stations, and new more “Savage” “ancient” weapon themes.
I’ve posted about this several times a couple years ago, but the itch/want is still there!
KUSH or DARFAR battle pass! You have the assets! I don’t want fans and roses… GIVE ME SKULLS!
I’d actually like to see more “primitive” items too.
I’m aware that after a week most people are building in T3 and are running around in epic endgame armor, but especially now that random purges aren’t a thing I’d love to see more truly primitive T1 building additions like huts and bomas, as well as some handcraftable primitive clothing as an alternative to the Plant Fiber rags that we’ve been wearing for nearly 8 years.
Handcraftable alternatives could give us some variety and can be used early game and late-game now that we have the illusion system.
Stuff from scraps of animal furs, for example:
Just a point: Kush isn’t a savage culture, they’re a civilization with cities, palaces and silks.
The best description of Kush comes from Howard’s unfinished draft of the Snout in the Dark, which can be found in the Complete Chronicles of Conan. It most likely draws inspiration from the historical kingdom of Kush, which kicked the butt of ancient Egypt back in the day.
The lower castes of Kushites were black, at least once referred to as “tribesmen”, but that doesn’t necessarily make them primitive. Poor and downtrodden, yes, based on how they’re described in the Snout in the Dark. The ruling caste seems to have descended from Stygians, so it’s kind of the reverse of our real-world history, where a Kushite dynasty rose to rule Egypt.
