Thank you, was just about to post it.
This your chance to get the info you want directly to Funcom.
Be reasonable.
Take the survery, Conanians! It asks exactly the questions recently discussed on the forum.
Only thing I donāt really understand is the question on what culture we would like in the shop. Without some hints do the designs they have in mind, thatās hard to judge. Kush should be similar to Stygia. So what will be the difference? Afghulistan, as far as I know, has never been shown in any Funcom game. So what are they planning?
Anyhow, itās nice to be asked.
Oh, yeah, and let us be polite. Some of the recent decisions are, uhm, questionable. But thereāre hard-working, talented people at Funcom, and even if one thinks they messed up on some points (I do), one has to respect all the goods things they did.
Also, yelling at people rarely makes them work harder, better or happier. Except in sports, apparently, at least according to fans.
I took the survey, but was a bit shocked that the multiple choices were so āeither orā with no room for variation. Only two boxes to give a detailed response as well. The last text box I spent the most time on.
I chose Cimmerian because not knowing much about Kush, I wanted something more detailed revolving around Conanās culture.
I tried to be as constructive as possible, however, the survey itself couldāve been made better. For example, they asked how we felt about each of the new things added in CH3 and asked us to rate them between strongly disliked or excellent or something to that effect, but then gave us no box to write up clarifying information that would help provide insight into our choice. I saw camels were one choice, but it was bugged for a whole monthā¦soā¦ I could not use it?
That question seems, uhm, questionable. Obvious way to react to that is not picking that option.
Also, one should be careful to post that one had a lot of fun with an animal on the internet. Just saying.
Though Iād imagine that to be difficult with a camel.
On the other hand, horses.
Well, anyhow. I picked tavern.
I didnāt pick that one, because I couldnāt tame one and use it as a mount so therefore I didnāt get to enjoy that new addition. I also didnāt get a text box to explain my decision. So my concern is, if people donāt pick the new mount option as much on the survey, will they use that data as feedback to not make new mounts in favor of other things?
Edit: I also picked tavern
This is heartening, it shows that they are attempting to listen and disseminate the feedback.
I personally put āvery badā for the combat changes, and was generally positive toward everything else. Favourite part was the Camel mount.
A very questionable and possible unhealthy life choice, but to each his or her own.
I thought the survey was laid out pretty good overall. With surveys, you have to minimize choices as mich as possible, or people go on rants. The idea is to get a general consensus the macro level ideas. Adding in comments or 12 choices that are too similiar dilutes data. Forcing into smaller groupibgs allows for an idea of the bigggest fails and biggest wins. Then you take those and do a micro survey for those in particular to drive the reasoning, removing the gray data so to speak. Forums are for full dissertations, surveys are for mining more direct data.
Hereās some vague information about the cultures they ask about:
Kush is country south of Stygia. It should be related to real historyās Nubia, which was conquered by Egypt. Nubia probably was similar to Egypt, but Hyboriaās Kushites are described as dark-skinned tribespeople. So, we can probably expect Kushite content to be inspired by sub-Saharan Africa.
Ophir is a kingdom south of Aquilonia and Nemedia. It should be similar to Argossea and Aquilonia in style and culture. The stories describe the country as exceptionally rich. I have no clear idea what to expect here, as the building sets for Aquilonia and Argossia are quite similar already and both seem to be from very well-off countries. Maybe Argossian with even more gold and decoration?
Cimmeria is where Conan is from, obviously. Maybe we could get a build set that allows to build the round houses the Forgotten Tribe uses in the Exiled Lands. Might challenging to implement, as that requires large round structures. Might be interesting, though.
Ghulistan or Afghulistan is the equivalent of real world Afghanistan. Rough mountaineers are mentioned in the lore. Iād guess a building style might be similar to traditional Afghanistan architecture, which Iād describe as Arabian:
Might be an interesting addition or alternative to Stygian sets.
P. S.: Maybe the Cimmerian set will include an altar to Crom. That would be easy to implement, as itās invisible and doesnāt do anything, just like the god himself.
Surveys are welcomed. But the focus on Bazaar is concerning.
Poll lacked some spots for typing in stuff.
I wanted call out Ai-Ya Siege. I listed it as Badā¦ its notā¦ Infinite Enemies in SP make it not fun. And lay out is really weird.
Its just got issuesā¦
NPC Fortsā¦ was one of my Suggestions! Iām happy something I asked for made itā¦ if not exactly in a great spotā¦ and its got so much HP.
I was really hoping to break alot of it downā¦ You kinda have Boss Rush itā¦ cause of spawns.
It be nice if it had āspawn reservesā for each section.
Also little mad we couldnāt muli-click System we play on. I Play Ps5/Steamā¦ I got most of DLC on PS5ā¦ and I wanna make sure I get my use out of them.
My issue with the siege is that itās so unbelievably laggy. Thereās been a few posts about it on the forums not to mention the mods that have been released to remove it altogetherā¦
Donāt like the survey.
It seems to be focused entirely on the changes of chapter 3, and particularly the combat the changes, offers no room to give any feedback about things prior.
I despise pvp in age of war chapter 3, but not because of chapter three, chapter one was abhorrent and chapter two was beating a dead horse, chapter three was beating the stain of blood that was left, I donāt even think it made pvp worse, at that point it was already absolute garbage far as Iām concerned.
No option to say that though, can only complain about the turning.
mumbles something about earlier testlive feedback
It literally states that is what the survey is for in the main threaf. Thoughts on Chapter 3. And it isnt a feed back discussion sirvey where we banter back amd forth, it is curated to pull the info they want/need, not to discuss ad naseaum. That is what this forum is for, words. Surveys are trying to put numbers to a chart to (hopefully) better meet the players taste.
So even though I never bought a bazaar set to rate one, I have to rate one to go on.
Worse it wants me to rate items I donāt own, give ideas of what to put in the bazaar I doenāt shop at, and tell them which of 3 sets I donāt own, do I like most.
Who wrote this crap survey, I canāt finish so my opinion canāt be counted. That is just SOOOOOO funcom.
Either I lie on the survey to finish it or my opinion wont count. Could that be more funcom?
Edit to add 17, 18, and 19, which was as far as I got because I donāt lie on surveys, needed an N/A option.
