Age of Sorcery and Kurak story recap

Okay, help me make a quick story recap, because there are still things I don’t entirely understand.

  1. So, before AOS some random mages appeared foreshadowing the rise of Kurak or something.
  2. Then AOS dropped and mages appeared all over the place, and you were able to harness the same power that Kurak has wherever it came from.
  3. Then witch hunters invaded the lands from Khitai hunting down mages and Kurak himself (?)
  4. Somehow they get along with Mek Kamoses, a stygian priest of Set who came up with the idea how to defeat Kurak. He also got a vision from whatever source about Kurak’s reducing the Exiled Lands to dust.
  5. To prevent Kurak from introducing even more bugs to the game than it’s already has, Mek Kamoses performs a ritual that involves some virgin princess, blood gems from ancient times, and sun eclipse. And he needs head of Kurak for that.
  6. We go to the dungeon, kill Kurak, cutting off his head and connection with whomever (some dark shadow) who manipulated Kurak and wanted to use hime to … I dunno for what.

And this is where I stop getting it.
Once we leave the dungeon, I assume the ritual, that Kurak was trying to perform was interrupted. And Does this mean Mek Kamoses doesn’t need to perform HIS ritual? Did he perfrom the ritual in the end? Why instead of giving Kurak’s head to Mek Kamoses, I trade it for some loot with Khitan traders? There is no additional dialogue… It was so confusing.

And today AOW dropped and I was hoping I will get more explanation. I got to Mek Kamoses’s Spire only to find it in ruins. Mek Kamoses is beheaded (but still alive somehow), virgin princess is gone, blood crystal is gone, Khitan traders are still willing to trade valuables for Kurak’s head.

So, did Mek Kamoses succeed? Did he stop Kurak’s ritual? What happened to the virgin princess. Who was she anyway??? WHo attacked them? Who killed Mek Kamoses? Please help me to make it make sense!

Look for the Princess in Conan’s tavern, I’m not sure that she will have all the answers but it’s a good place to start.

Conan saved the princess and “killed” Mek-kamoses. You can talk with Princess in Sepermeru bar.
Mek-kamoses living head is at the ritual site.

The princess can be found in the tarven where Conan is. SHe explains how, her father, the Stygian king has come to rob Exiled Lands of its treasures. Something between these lines.
Here’s the trailer for more info

I don’t think Conan attacked Mek-kamoses’s camp.
The place looks like it’s been through a siege. My bet is more on the Stygian King that destroyed that camp, and somehow his daughter, the princess, managed to flee to sepermeru, runing away from her father, during the attack. The placeholder in the Savanah(some basic T3 building pieces.), where Ruins of al-Merayah was, will be stygian army fortress which will enable a new feature “PvE siege” and it is where players will be able to raid it for treasures (although this part i’ve gathered from bits and pieces of speculations)
More of the story is in the Battle pass, at page 49-54 you can see the Ruins of al-Merayah being purged and the stygian fortress being built in its stead.

Okay, enough about the Princess. What about Kurak? Did we help Mek Kamoses to stop him? And if we did, and he didn’t perform his sacrifice, then was it even needed in the first place?

I’m pretty sure Kurak is dead. I have his head in my chest, twice, and he’s not as talkative as Mek-kamoses. Looks dead to me.
Mek-kamoses story ark may continue when he will manage to get himself whole again, in his own words:
“By and by, I shall bide my time, and by my so potent art, make myself whole again” and “We’ll meet again. I have forseen it”. We can take that as a promise, I think.

I can make a wild speculations and say that Mek-kamoses story will continue when we’ll have a new map. He does seem to want to destroy the bracelets and help us escape the Exile Lands.

My thoughts: Stygian king entered Exiled Lands just as portrayed in the battle pass. He interrupted the ritual Mek-kamoses was performing, and beheaded him. His daughter escaped during the siege. The king purges the close-by ruins and started building his fortress.

You underestimate his hatred for sorcerers :joy:

Conan does have a line of dialogue about sorcerers. No doubt he’s involved in the plot somehow, at least observant of the recent events.
But Conan’s story seems to be focused more on Razma of Shem, at least, that’s what I think.

This is honestly EXTREMELY appropriate

Wow, that’s a cool trailer. I wish we had this graphics in the game

Thanks for all the clarifications!
