I have a private server, and the “eventsystemenabled” is true, but none of the encounters are spawning for us in any of the places they are supposed to. Is there something else we may need to do, or is there another setting we are missing?
I was so excited to try the new fight, and I am sad these events are spawning.
Sometimes a “manual” server restart helps (first put it on stop. then restart it).
Can’t explain, why it makes a difference to a “normal” restart. Maybe just a coincidence…
We have restarted many times over the last weekend, in many different ways: just close, task close, and stopped - restarted. Still not getting the events.
We will try a new game, clean, and see if it is just our game that is bugged. Otherwise, not sure what else to do.
The event system is linked to the funcom servers. When you restart your server, it gets a list of enabled encounters directly from the Funcom servers
If you are actually running a server locally there’s a chance you have a firewall blocking those connections or something
I am Offline Singleplayer on ps5. I really do hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for many members the fix did not achieve the intended outcome. Most encounters are still broken, and I have images to back all of this up. Here is where my game currently lies:
A Snake Cult Caravan: still not working
Sacriffice Interrupted: still not working
Portal to Yuggoth: still not working
Grave Matters: still not working
Blowback: still not working
Head Hunting: in working order, as it was beforehand
Witch Hunt: still not working
I should note that I was able to get Witch Hunt to work if I delete all of my save data and start over, but for many players such as myself it is not worth losing everything to complete this one event.
As for helpful suggestions, I really do wish I could offer you some. No I really mean it! But myself and a couple of knowledgeable other individuals are tinkering with it often where we can. If I find out anything, I will be sure to share it with you.
Hi , I feel like from what I have been reading, yes there are a few of us who are broken. It makes me sad.
We even tested the ports, and manually as well, nothing is blocked, and the game is actively contacting funcom in the background, but funcom is returning a 404 on the event system links.
Maybe I need to make a bug report.
Its frustrating, i was so looking forward to this.
Saera and I did some more investigation, and it does look like the server successfully makes a request from the Funcom APIs, I was able to reproduce the request in PowerShell just to see if there was any sort of weirdness, and the results match up:
Perhaps it’s something to do with EL_WitchHunt_04? I’m not sure if those are multiple stages of the event, say headhunting and capturing unconscious sorcerers, and the big fancy event thingy that we can’t seem to get to happen isn’t properly loading? Maybe they’re just locations that the events are supposed to occur at, and 4 out of 5 work fine, but one is busted causing the system to prematurely exit to handle the exception?
Maybe it’s something all together different and I’m chasing ghosts, the un-fun kind that don’t lead you to a random chest.
We have now deactivated EL_WitchHunt_04 as it seems this line was interfering with the spawning of events. Please try to restart your servers once more and give them a try.
Unfortunately, this does not seem to have fixed the issue with the dedicated servers.
What we did
Updated dated our games, the server, and validated all files.
We tried a new un-modded, vanilla game.
We tried our old save.
Results
Encounters (found at Stargrazer’s, The Passage, Xullan, Volcano) DO NOT spawn.

The update shows that the request did NOT have the El_WithHunt_04 in it, which is good. However, the logs for the dedicated server still throw the error:
2022.12.20-16.58.15:044][246]LogLevel:Warning: Failed to find streaming level object associated with ‘Event_WitchHunt_04’
Our dedicated server (which was updated and validated, wiped out and repop folders too) is still for some reason looking for that object.
As I said before, I do not know if this is what is causing them not to spawn.
