I’m fairly certain this isn’t anything Funcom will bother with, so I figured perhaps if there’s enough fuss raised the Mod author of Pippi will finally push an update.
However, I’ve just discovered that the Pippi Thespians animation set is causing a Fatal Error, I can’t even click to view the list without it CTD on Fatal Error.
Literally, setting up the Thespian, just simply clicking on the button “Select Anim” causes it to CTD with Fatal Error.
This only just happened after Ch2 Update 09-21-23…
Went through all mods and discovered it during singleplayer.
You don’t need to do a fuss, just report and patience. Mods are volunteer work, we cannot push the authors, it’s not correct.
However i will tag @Fia to read your wish. Yet patience my friend .
I get it that you are new to mods and private servers but it is pretty normal for the mods to take some time to update. Mods are free and modders have jobs and lives too, it can take days to update. Be patient, no amount of forum posts will make the update happen sooner as most of the modders don’t even visit the forums. If waiting for a few days after an update is not something that works for you, play vanilla.
Yep, exactly. Players and Admins using Mods should, by now, know to be patient with, and respectful to Modders. We are not forced to use mods. Modders do actually have real lives too.
I’m only going off the fact it was updated so long ago in June. I can’t for the life of me justify disabling comments and discussions, and then not pushing any kind of update for months.
You COULD have been helpful, instead of insulting my college education in Network and Computer Management, the $15K server I built years ago that is now considered an Antique by my own standards, and the dozens of servers I’ve hosted over the years privately. But I understand, most people who go about “Hosting their own server” go to someone else to host it for them. I prefer doing it all myself, I’ve even been threatened legal action by a German company for just owning my own server hardware, oh Dragon’s Prophet, how entertaining you were.
Still reading this wall of words?
Perhaps something constructive would have been received better, instead of your blanket fanboy statement of attempting humiliation and shaming. When was the last update? hmm? June? there’s been a hot minute of updates since then on just about everyone else’s mods, considering how many features are still labelled “experimental” I would expect some work to have been done, I don’t care if it is “volunteer” work, 1 hour a day would offer more changes than that since June. But suddenly there’s a core update and poof an update is pushed, sure it was WELL after everyone else’s updates, but well you knew that already didn’t you pal.
Look at you champ, still reading, proud of you.
Perhaps next time, before trying to stroke your own ego on a 13Fox, you can attempt being polite.
Pippi has stopped development, for the most part. A lot of experimental components will likely not be finalized. But Joshtech has been keeping Pippi up to date with the big game updates. Hence the last update in June. Which was when AoW Chapter 1 came out.
As for Steam, plenty of modders turn off comments and direct people to their discord instead as it’s much easier for them to keep track of and easier for people to report bugs and get help in a quicker timeframe. I’d recommend joining their discord to keep an eye on updates and bug fixes.
But it’s a mod. For anyone installing a mod this “risk” is on the table isn’t it? The people who create mods are doing it for hobby, it’s not a job and they literally have zero obligation to continue doing this hobby. Mods do not bring food on their table on the contrary it removes like all hobbies do. So let’s not confuse volunteer working with real jobs. If my park is not decorated as it was last year because volunteers handle it it’s not on them to blame. Yet again i cannot blame the authority that do not fund this decoration to continue existing. This was a plus and it was beautiful for as long as it existed.
There’s nobody to blame here and nothing to ask more. If Joshtech find the time and reason to do it he will. But do not think for a minute that he will do it because he felt pressured from his mod community. IF he will do it, he will do it because he felt like doing it, no other reason.
Maybe i am wrong and it’s not correct from my side to speak over him, but because i am volunteering to a lot in real life that’s how i act and if i do good to the society, i do not do it for others, i do it for me, because i feel right, good when i volunteer, for no other and i care not what others say, i don’t give a dime even if it’s good or bad. That’s the volunteer mentality my friend exile!
You can join the Pippi Discord and report a bug there, it would most likely get their attention sooner. Some mods don’t need to be updated right away unless there is some sort of weird problem.
Patience is the best solution and reporting bugs directly to the modder’s Discord.
I’m not trying to be insulting in any way, just helpful.
OMG you need to go get help, go see a doctor because you are fully delusional. Having a go at a moderator who simply told you it is to be expected. Yet here you go stroking your own ego and throwing knives. The moderator simply told you that you will have to wait. If you don’t like waiting remove the mod. SIMPLE.
Entitled much? The modder doesn’t owe you anything. If you want to stay up to date, use modders preferred method of communication or be grateful that someone still bothers responding to you despite your ■■■■■■ attitude. Josh and many others prefer using discord. Link is provided on the steam page of the mod.
Sounds like a waste of money, if you’re talking about one Conan Exiles server

The rest doesn’t need to be commented on… Your attitude speaks for itself… Poorly
Listen to your own advice, it is good advice, really
I agree 100%.
And when we see these comments stating how Modders must act, must update their mods immediately, must etc - I always wonder why these people (especially when they have these apparently inexhaustible funds and systems) don’t download that ol’ Dev kit and start modding themselves?
Any Admin that runs a server and adds mods will know that they have that choice to use mods. The game works without mods. Mods are not critical to any game. No-one can make demands of Modders (especially when Modders seldom get paid for their time).
Don’t pop off at me, and I certainly won’t pop off at you, simple as that. The saying: “Treat others how you wanna be treated.” is how i live. I was only going by how they expressed to me how they wished to be treated.
Quite the opposite. I would definitely drop a note to a Modder if I have an idea or have spotted a glitch. I would, like with any/all logging of fault tickets, let the Modder(s) know what the issue is I have found and what the effects are (many Modders have their own Discord channels or at least a Mod Workshop group). Or, for ideas and suggestions, details and examples, etc. Most Creatives would appreciate feedback on their creations.
The only thing that I would see as an issue is to be insulting or unreasonable - if I were a Modder I certainly wouldn’t appreciate that. If I had the skills and felt strongly enough, I would try my hand at Modding myself. I would then be in full control of the Mod and how it is used.
All feedback to Modders, Devs, Creatives is usually welcomed, especially when it’s feedback with ideas and suggestions for further development.
Josh stopped playing Conan and he’s about his life now.
He is doing a big favor to community by repairing/updating Pippi after each game update that breaks it.
So basically dude is doing hours of free work just for us here while he does not play the game anymore. He said that a year ago.
Big respect for Josh, and a big finger for Funcom for not adopting Pippi functions to a base game.
