You’re no champion on ToC interpretation either dude.

I don’t really think it is a matter of too big or within what would be considered reasonable.

There has been much suggestion that the system is automated.

As long as mass reports are allowed there will always be a guaranteed outcome of removal and suspension/ban.

There’s 780 servers, last I looked there were approximately 3 admins that send automated replies in the emails.

We don’t know their internal system, but how are 3 admins supposed to properly, with integrity and logic, honestly perform their duties to our expectations of fairness? Impossible.

The entire system needs to be changed. It’s done so much damage to the community regardless of our interpretations or opinions.

How so?

If a base can be too big, then Funcom would state that in their list of rules. Sure, one admin checking a report can use their discretion and think one is too big but to me that opens another can of worms. Would I like to see a limit? It would sure end the landclaim and building issues.

You have to stop with the “I’m right, you’re wrong, you don’t understand”

Dude it has literally zero to do with how many landclaim bans I’ve gotten and has to do with the actual rules. No where does it say a big or large base alone is against the rules. You’re claiming there is.

You are wrong.

Perfect example of people who wanna be Funcoms police force.

No it’s a perfect example of a responsible citizen. Which says a lot about you.

Then learn how to understand it’s to about being right and wrong.

There is a limit, it’s flexible and situationally dependent at the desecration of admin, and that is the part you will never get.

Yeah and at what point have I ever argued against that?

Oh right. Never. I have stated several times that an admin will make their own decisions when looking at a report. If we had rules such as “you are allowed 1000 building pieces” and someone builds 1001 and gets banned, there’s no question as to why. Right now with the rules say on landclaim, you can be banned for building a raid shack and vault next to someone’s base before raiding it, despite the fact it’s legal to do so.

Yes. I prefer that people play the game. You prefer to be Funcoms policeman. You encourage others to do so. You belittle them when they don’t do as you want them to.

I see who I’d rather be.

No I prefer to be a responsible citizen of a society. Which apparently you have no idea what means. So we are right back to where we always are your lacking in comprehension that most people would consider average.

“if you’re not part of the solution, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM”.

Civic Responsibility is defined as the “responsibility of a citizen”. It is comprised of actions and attitudes associated with democratic governance and social participation.

We have no civil responsibility to run around Funcoms servers and snitch every little thing that offends us.

You really don’t get how telling language is do you?

O.o a vigilante of sorts?

I dunno guys, you’ve been going at it for weeks it seems. Actually it has been months?

I think there is a failure to understand each other as often you both basically say the same thing the only difference being that one can leave well enough alone and the other wanting to contribute via approved methods.

My suggestion is not to use the system as long as it is faulty. Hell, I couldn’t even get Funcom to act on a real threat with stalking (with proof!) in a reasonable amount of time?

no people decisions and no people policing - because they bias
only strict rules on officials (you can play without it on different types of servers!!!)

building part limit
placeables limit
more red zones
= you can build whatever you want inside those LINES and play without constant risk being wiped for 10000 reasons
people want to play game - to relax
not to fight some police\citizen\court wars jesus who right and who wrong
the solution is simple
game itself should have rules, and not rely of so called citizens to police how the others play
Show me your pure and legit base, and i gonna find a legit reason to wipe it, and this things need to stop forever.

Ya, as I have said we have been down this same road so many times it’s a canal now. Till funcom joins in we’re all just spitting in the wind.

Now here is the issue from funcoms perspective, any changes to the building rule will have wide spread detrimental effects on the player base. You go on any PVE server and you will find massive sprawling bases, with court yards, zoos, and parks. Or full villages. Both of which are examples of how not to build.

So funcom institutes the foundation count limit, and people use ceiling/floor tiles as bridges between the foundations and boom mega base with plazas using the max foundations. So you do a building piece limit. And you know you’ll need a placeables limit.

Now that limit is a per person thing, each person joining a clan gives over their piece count so now we have ghost clans. 1 person 9 alts and right back to single player mega builds.

We can set here all day long and work out an acceptable TOC and enforcement there of. But nothing will change as long as funcom isn’t part of the discord.

My suggestion now is land claim blocks. Start with one, can make 5 more once you unlock the recipe. Ingredients would be mid level rare; hardened steel, reinforced brick, alchemy base, tar. Or similar.
You can build how you want, parked Borg cube, Norse walled village, Camelot, Hogwarts, don’t care.

With this system no builds for POIs would be easy, just needs to be the point of the POI in most cases.
No more false reports, or reports at all for building, so no need of admin running down reports.

And back to the problem for funcom, how do you implement this with out losing a bunch of long time players that simply don’t want to lose their years long build; they haven’t covered a map square yet.
So how does funcom implement changes. Do it and let the chips fall where they may? Set up new servers; with a better host, and ask people to migrate and rebuild? Wipe the servers and start over with the new system? :+1:.

How do they do it with out alienating their best customers?

Yes, I know this wont stop server lag. It will come back, why? My opinion storage causes server lag. And PVE Conan probably has some of the biggest hoarders in gaming.
You want to hear people scream? Limit hoarding.

There was no ToC when that was then. Bad alphas destroyed anybody that came new to the server, so lesson learned. My gut feeling is that was allowed to an extreme point.

Nowhere! I agree, but they do not allow excessive land claim, they don’t even allow villages because of that . Yet they say also…

Please read through and consider the spirit of the guidelines, not the specific wording.

This is where things become tricky @Nemisis, so try not to use wording when they already asked not to do so.

But in your comments about big builds i agree. I fixed a small tiny village, if someone wishes to use all this land claim i have done can build a huge building. Why he is wrong and i am right?
It all comes down to another thing you said, that the build is causing performance issues.
Yet @Tephra a couple years ago asked for a tool so players can see on their own if they interfere in the server performance. Where is it?

Exactly. This is why people want more clear rules because we read one thing, then consider the “spirit” of the rule, then Funcom comes in from left field with the ban hammer because they read them differently. Then we people ask for clarity….

“Please submit a ticket to Zendesk”

It’s gets you no where.

The biggest reason for false reports - abusive land claim
So, lets decriminalize it, adding more red zones, plus limiting building zone (radius)
So technically, you wont be able to abuse much.
Plus some clear rules are crucial.
For example road\bridge - 10 (20?) foundations max. Straight and clear.
Because now, some people stay untouched with long walls and bridges across the square, while some got wiped for 10 long bridge (it the only way to get water base) (which literally not even take any place on the ground, how it can be abusive LAND claim? wth?)
