During last month’s testlive, it was made known that the new Battlepass Progression system would be dependant not on dailies, but on a set of 3 weeklies, each giving 2500xp, for a total of 7500xp a week. The change is not necessarily ideal, but not a deal-breaker either.
However, it was also stated that one could earn Battlepass XP by essentially playing the game- crafting, killing, harvesting. That seemed like a reasonable alternative- but I find myself capped at a determinate level without the option to progress any further. Is it by design, or is it just the new update making things a little wonky for the time being?
You have to earn XP in order for it to count towards the battle pass. If you are in ‘creative mode’ than you are not earning XP. Have you tried playing the game as normal (without admin privileges)?
There is a limit to how much battle pass exp you can earn per day from what I saw earlier. Passive experience halts at 9000, plus the 7500 from the three weekly challenges means you can’t progress the battle pass beyond level 16 is what players are reporting.
I am not thrilled at all about the cap on daily battlepass experience, to be honest- to that matter, are you certain that it is daily, or does it also refresh weekly like the weekly challenges? The former would be vastly preferrably to the latter
The battle pass was redone specifically to keep you in the game longer; IMO.
I’m sure some one crunched some numbers, saw people were coming on for a week after the battle pass dropped, then did the serial refresh thing. They need to keep they’re player count up consistently for the numbers to look good.
60,000 (1kX60 levels)-7500 for weekly event leaves 52500. That equates to 6 days worth of playing if you max out your 9k XP cap on it. And you got 90 some days to complete.
lol dude, all the previous Battle Passes could be completed while in admin mode. I was just there for the cosmetics. I played the game my own way.
Now they disabled the BP gains for Admin mode. WHY?
And the OP points out that the entire progression is level capped and timegated. Now you can’t just complete the challenges in a few days, where you had 5 challenges with 10x bonus and 3 rerolls daily. WHY?
Why the hell would they do that? People like me bought the BP for the cosmetics, gave them money and in return were free to complete the challenges how they wanted: by playing the game or by way of the admin mode.
My guess: To urge ppl to buy the BP booster.
I think they weren’t making nearly as much money on the BP as the “monetization expert” they mentioned in the AoS C1 DevStream anticipated. And the questinoable decission to timegate the whole Bazaar by making it rotation based instead of offering the whole list of available packs at all times to buy on a whim, wasn’t helping either.
Since you get all your crom coins back, in theory you’d only need to buy CC once and still rake in all BPs they’ll ever put out. So they had basically two choices: Remove or reduce the payback or give ppl an incentive to buy the booster.
Now guess which option would have had the louder outcry?
That is not the case, i’m Max Level and still got BP XP, i also was in Admin and Creative the entire time. So it has NOTHING to do with actually gaining Character XP.
There seems to be some Cap however that is either activated if you’re gaining XP too fast or just a Daily/Weekly cap that seems to bug out randomly.
I was able to do my 3 Weekly challenges and get Crafting XP up to Level 16 and 500/1000 XP
Then i noticed no further gain and closed the game, which prompted a Game Update from Steam. Launching the game again and throwing my crafting into gear (with Admin Mode AND Creative Mode enabled) allowed me to gain an additional 8000 XP so i’m now at Level 24 with 500/1000 XP
So again it either caps you at a certain point for the day/week
Or there’s a failsafe in the game that prevents you from abusing the passive XP to gain way too much XP in a short time.
I report the exact same experience- but for the life of me I can’t figure out whether it’s a failsafe, a cap or whatever.
I do find it strange that, if it is a cap, it was neither announced in the dev stream nor pointed out in the patch notes. I am at a loss for words, truly
Cap at 9000 XP every 24 Hours, its dumb - We paid for this Battlepass Scam - The least they can do is let us grind it out and get it done so we can get the items we already paid for and are forced to work for…
