Bug Description:
Removing unrequired items from crafting bench inventory partially or fully cancels crafting queue.
Bug Reproduction:
Set items to craft. Example: 10 paddings, 2 full sets of armor.
Move and item out of crafting inventory that is not being used to craft, doesn’t matter what type of item.
2nd and subsequent items in queue cancel.
This mostly happens on benches such as armorer’s, blacksmith, etc.,… When it first started to become a problem was years ago with the Casting Table and made its way onto other initiated queue benches. I have not seen it yet, but sometimes the removal causes select items to cancel. Ex.: 10 paddings, 3 gloves, 2 paddings, 3 boots; all the boots and gloves will cancel, 1 padding from the second grouping will remain and half the paddings from the first slot will cancel. My guess is that it is the same
I don’t have a video. That is beyond my capabilities at this time.
I can also confirm as pre-existing in singleplayer.
The bug can also trigger itself without the player removing any items from the bench - if a stack of required components runs out, then it seems to treat that in the same way (cancelling later items in the crafting queue) even if there are other stacks of the same component in the bench.
Eg: crafting several pieces of heavy armor from scratch, each with its own padding 'auto’crafting - if the stack of hardened leather runs out (with other stacks still in the bench), the game will often cancel crafting any of the remaining queued pieces and will require them to be queued again.
Edit: It should be noted that this secondary trigger for the bug is more intermittent than it used to be, because crafting stations now often take resources from random stacks within their inventory rather than working through one stack at a time as they used to.
It was always that way…you craft 3 armour pieces and the bech craft also the “don´t know the name” you need, light, medium and heavy “?”…one piece is finish,if you take it out, others will stop, just the “?” still keeps going, not the armour you choosed.
Yes, it is an old bug. (I don’t know if translation software is properly translating ‘pre-existing’?) It has not always been here (there were times when it has worked properly), but definitely most of the last couple of years.
But that is why it is worth reporting again, because it seems likely it is not on Funcom’s current list because it has been going a long time again.
Let’s say you place all the materials to make armor and drop in stone, because you accidentally put the stone there or you needed a quick place to store it, any reason. So you start the crafting queue and now you want to remove the stone from the inventory. Removing the stone, or rather the act of removing an item from the inventory that is not required for the items in queue, cancels the crafting queue partially.
Another example is you want a piece or full armor set that has already crafted but there’s still some in the crafting queue. Removing the finished armor set will partially cancel the queue.
This bug has been there since they fixed the bug where you could remove required materials and still craft the item. Since programming is hard instead of doing the right thing they just said “if you remove anything at all then crafting is canceled”. Funcom gonna Funcom. Have fun with it.
