Probably a good 70% of the time I can’t cast spells at all. I can NEVER recast any spell once I’ve succeeded in a cast until 4-8 hours later.
I was wondering if it was me… but suddenly I succeeded in casting the batwing spell… it lasted about 30 seconds and then I could not cast again at all. Logging off didn’t matter … the only time the spellcast animation would begin with the floating runes again would either be the next day or a good many hours later.
Most of the time the runes don’t even show up or appear. Is there a flag or some kind of state I can view to determine if spells are disabled?
It seems very similar to when I log in and find my stamina wont restore itself without sheathing and enabling a weapon. (often times in the middle of combat GRRRRRRR!) I thought it was my internet… nope updated and upgraded to different networks.
I thought it was my computer… switched to different OS and computers with massive resources available… so it comes down to timing/gameplay. I wear heavy armor with a mace and I’ve noticed that timing my attacks alleviates it somewhat in battle… but usually when it’s really bad, rebooting and relogging will reset it back to normal.
None of those workarounds fix the spell casting issue that is generally flip a coin if I want to cast a spell. Messing around with logging or rebooting usually leaves me 30 minutes later with no relief… so active sorcery spells are sometimes available… (no it’s not corrupted attributes affecting gameplay… it’s same with or without corrupted attributes.) I’ve tried specific procedures… getting myself corrupted or starting with blank slate… It’s a hit or miss.
Is this by design or just a really crappy implementation of the subsystem? I don’t remember casting spells being this intermittent.
It’s also not related to the rubberband issue that happens at least 10-15% of the time whereyou are stuck in rubberband until you relog or `/suicide to reset.
