Bug Description:
Occasionally, in certain circumstances, character enters a state where stamina does not regenerate and character cannot perform weapon attacks, or sometimes some tool harvests. The attack/harvest animation is not performed, character only does a small twitch. This seems to at least partially depend on the weapon or tool used, as some tools do work but others do not. This may have something to do with the stamina cost of said weapon/tool and how much stamina I have left in my stamina bar(which does not regenerate). However this is not in line with the weapon or my apparent stamina bar, as weapon attack simply does not work regardless of the amount of stamina I seemingly have left.
This state is permanent. Restarting the game does not clear the bug, but character dying does reset it.
The bug is extremely gamebreaking as it prevents my character from defending themselves or doing anything that consumes stamina, and it clears only on character death. The bug only started appearing during last couple days.
I can confirm it - last time it happened yesterday (official CE server) during fight for key at Stargazer Crest - suddenly out of blue my stamina was gone; i couldn’t fight and died. After respawn i could finish fighting. I was alone, no buffs, standard weapon.
I have the same problem. On 3 different official servers, one Exiled Lands and two Siptah.
It always happens when i’m in a fight. No stamina, can’t run, can’t jump, can’t fight, can’t ride horse. It makes the game unplayable.
After dying it is normal again for a random time, one or more days. Sometimes i logout and next day i’m cured.
Tried everything, but there is no cure I am aware of. I also tried reinstalling with complete removal of all files. I have no mods, only official dlc.
Nope. Changing weapon doesn’t affect whether stamina starts regenerating again or not. Only character death clears the state. You might be able to swing something that has lower stamina cost once or twice with your lowered stamina, but stamina still doesn’t regenerate.
I already answered a similar discussion post some days ago with similar problem, because I had this bug as well several times now.
After some testing I noticed, that this bug only appears after lying in a bed.
When I layed my character into a bed before logging out, logging back in to the server hours later this bug always came back.
But if I logged out on the ground or on foundations the bug didn’t appear.
Since I’m sure beds trigger this bug I wouldn’t be surprised, if this behaviour would end in the same results for you guys as well.
Try it out, if it’s gone when you log out on the ground.
You know, this could be it. Occasionally I logged out and back in inside the Stygian sarcophagus (I absolutely love that its a feature), because I liken my sorcerer character to a mummy. Ive not done it many times, but Im not sure if these cases coincide with the stamina bug. I might do some more testing. Perhaps logging out while using an emote is the cause.
I managed to replicate the bug and record a video of it.
I am still working on exact method how to replicate it, which turned out to be non-trivial. It has something to do with either logging out while doing an emote (I logged out inside the stygian sarcophagus), logging back in and using a transportory stone, and/or alt-tabbing to windows. I thought I had it pinned down, but turns out I didnt.
We can conclude that it is not related to combat as I originally thought however.
Emote stance - an interesting point.
Will test this right now.
But that might be the main cause in the end indeed since laying in a bed is nothing else than an emote stance.

Nope. Just tried a sit emote. Did nothing - so it’s not the emote stance.
I sat my character down on the ground, logging out & back in - no stamina reg. bug.
Laying in the bed, logging out & back in - bug is back again.
So it’s still just with the beds.
I can now successfully replicate the bug every time, however Im having issues with Nvidia experience trying to record a video of it…
I enter the stygian sarcophagus and close the lid
Log out to main menu
Log back in
exit the sarcophagus and do a dodge roll
the bugged state is active
Only character death clears the state, logging out and back in does not.
ps. Perhaps sitting in a chair or similar interactable state when logging out is the cause?
pps. Note that this may not be the only way to trigger the bug, its just the one I have managed to find.

I run a private server on a linux machine using wine client.
Maybe one of my few mods is minimizing this ugly bug for me.
Who knows.
All I can say is - laying in a bed definitely triggers the bug (since another player already confirmed my assumption).
Err no, thats not a base game thing. That must come from one of your mods? If I interact with a bed all it does is reset my spawn point. There is no animation.
