Co-op stuck at "attempting to join"

Hi! My friend and I can’t host a co-op game or join one. It simply says “attempting to join” and never joins… we tried the following and it didn’t fix it:

  • Disable Steam Overlay
  • Disable Antivirus/Firewall
  • Port forwarding
  • Run game as admin / run battleye launcher as admin
  • Uninstall/reinstall battleye
  • Both having the same nudity settings
  • verifying game files on steam
  • delete the conan saved folder
  • lower steam default ping settings

We can both join online servers fine, but co-op just won’t work. This is super disappointing because my friend specifically bought the game so we can co-op. Is there anything else we can try?
