Conan Exiles 7th Anniversary

Exiles,

May 8th marks seven years since they first took your family and your riches and left you to die in the Exiled Lands. From the early days of your first sandstone hovel to the sprawling strongholds of today, surviving, building, and dominating with you has been an incredible journey.

We’re still hard at work improving stability and fixing bugs for the next release, but we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the occasion with a few things:

Twitch Drops: Watcher Furniture May 7 - May 21

First, you can claim the five pieces of the Watcher Furniture Set May 7th through May 21st from Twitch.tv, just by watching any Conan Exiles streams for a combined total of 1 hour. If you haven’t linked your account, you can do so right here!

Share Your Journey

We invite newbloods and veterans alike to share stories of their characters and experiences within the Exiled Lands. What’s your journey been like? Post them here on the forums and we’ll share your stories (with your permission, of course) on social media.

#7YearsExiled

Speaking of social media, join the #7YearsExiled hashtag across our social media channels [X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and now finally BlueSky] and let’s see some before and after screenshots or clips from when you first set foot in the Exiled Lands and compare it to today.

Free Items

Keep your eyes peeled for a special item code you can redeem in-game for some free goodies; the Golden Pickaxe, Illusion scroll bundes, and the Fake Death emote. It won’t last long, so keep your eyes peeled, Exiles.

Here’s to seven brutal, glorious years, Exiles. And to many more.

You should make the 5th Anniversary Cake available for those who missed it on every anniversary.

I hope that wasn’t another limited-time exclusive that was available once and never again.

Yes my dear friend, gladly!

My son years ago will ask my permission to download a free psn game for PlayStation store. It was under his age to play Conan exiles and i had to check it first before he could play. Although the game had nudity (European version) we didn’t knew how to activate it and the gore was way lower than many other games, so after playing a couple hours, or three (and fell in love) i allowed him to play it, it was ok.
Other than that it was a difficult game on the survival aspect, i had already died numerous times in the starting river, mostly because i couldn’t start the freaking campfire and cook something to eat, so i didn’t believe that my son will have patience for such a difficult game.
On my first sandstorm i dive in the water the deeper i could, but no sandstorm was killing me there too.
On my second sandstorm i tried to build something, but i fixed walls without foundations, so since these walls couldn’t attach anywhere i died again.
My son started glorious, he understood how to use the campfire almost immediately, he started making tools and weapons in no time. His first weapon was the stone 2h sword. The finisher of this weapon was very exiting so after his 1 and a half hour gaming (mother’s rules for everyday gaming) the controller was back to me…
The next day i made the call sick :squinting_face_with_tongue: just to stay home and play Conan exiles.
Many gaming hours will follow, many adventures, losses, disappointments, rage quits… But, like i said in the beginning, i fell in love.
This game was a true gem and i knew it that it will live a mark in my gaming life from the very beginning. A few games have made me lost the sense of time while playing them and Conan exiles was one of it.
After playing too long on single player i decided to go online. I didn’t knew how to use filters so my first week find me playing on different server every day. Finally i learned how to play on the same server and how to favorite or use history etc…
But pve was… Mute. Nobody was speaking to me and everybody was blocking paths, so i decided to go pvp.
Online oasis…
I made friends in no time despite the cruelty of this game and some people went really deep in my heart. Pvp on Conan exiles was a blessing in my gaming history, truly, fantastic experience beyond expectations …
But there’s another world that made this experience even more fascinating than it already was…
Yes your forum @AndyB.
This is the only gaming forum i ever participated and i am blessed to meet unique people in here. With some of them i even shared amazing gaming days and more…
I know we are a bit problematic community, we whine a lot, we fight a lot, but we are kinda addicted to each other.
What a fantastic journey so far…

Thank you Funcom

Ps. Dennis fix the game, lol!

I noticed today that large crates no longer have thrall options. Which is great, but the real question I have is, have you fixed it so that people can no longer purge other people’s bases on pve and pve-c? It would be nice to know if its safe to build on land again. Im tired of people blowing up bases by exploiting the golems and kicking Demolishers to my front doors..

On May 8th, 2018 at 9:55pm, I unlocked The Scarlet Citadel

Since then, I’ve met strange new people (and killed them), spoken with beings who were worshipped as gods (and killed them), seen lizard folk, demons and dragons (and killed them). After all these years, only one still makes me feel like just a little girl with a toy sword: The Arena Champion.

Oh, this one’s stories probably aren’t safe share.
Which is actually high praise.

But suffice to say, this one hopes the good parts aren’t confined to the past tense.

Hey brother we need to get back together
. As far as game day one Ps4 player between characters over 10 thousands hours still learning. Best way to play this game is with friends that is what causes me to continue playing. Not the bugs glitches and other BS. But my friends.

There is this earliest video, since the Exiled Lands introduction for this character was copyright struck by someone I never even heard of.

Cliffside Battle:

And more recently this same character known as Khultulun on The Isle of Siptah:

[..]
And so we came at last to this kingdom. It was a fertile land
rolling grasslands and temperate hills that gave way in the far south to the dryness of a desert.
In the north were mountains but not the snow-covered that we had seen on our journey, just jagged rocky peaks.
And a swamp, thick and brooding, that lay over the eastern part of the region like a shadow.
But it was clear that this land was inhabited.
Carved blocks of mighty stone covered the landscape, and a crystal lake in the north was dammed and siphoned along a great aqueduct.
And the city..such engineering was beyond humankind
I saw the great monuments, the statues brooding over the river and the towers that flamed unnaturally across the landscape.
And I confess. I felt fear.

Even today sometimes when I’m near a yellow stone I touch it jst to hear again her melancholic, sad and vengeful voice that conquered me the first time I found one of these stones. I always loved it.
Today I realize The Witch Queen perfectly was describing most of my feelings in my early days of playing CE in May 2018 when just a croc or a hyena would become a challenge for the newbie I was.

if only time would’ve stopped 5 years ago, then i wouldnt have to see this game become the abomination it is today.

I truly wish I could provide a positive post expressing my journey through Conan Exiles. This is by far my most played game and really was an experience that I loved for several years. But with the advent of the ‘Ages’ and bad decision after unwanted change after QoL removal, I find my interest has been driven lower and lower.

I am glad that Funcom fixed a slew of bugs in the last update, and that you say the team is working on a whole bunch more. That’s great, and much needed. But it does not fix the inventory system (which is not only bugged, but has had key features like persistent custom inventory sorting removed); it does not give us back our cursor on radial menus (which was removed for no reason whatsoever); it does not make pets worth the time again; it does not re-implement the many survival mechanics that have been mafde laughably easy; it does not give us back the ability to order a follower to ‘wait here’ without having to stop and actually place them on guard (not possible in many of the exact locations where we would want them to wait); it does not give us back meaningful looting where we actually had to work for some things (I visited buccaneer bay in my last session to try to get a water-breathing mask - it used to require a couple of attempts to get one, I came away with more than half a dozen for no effort at all, since now it appears virtually every npc in the area carries one); it does not fix the fact that we now get locked to a single facing while using harvesting tools; it does not make our crafters back into crafters instead of bad fighters with unnecessary wandering tendencies; it does not give us back ‘one crafter per bench’ which provided for more meaningful gameplay loops (now one crafter covers multiple benches and our bases seem completely dead unless we collect pointless low level fighters just to fill the empty slots); it does not give us back the freedom to swap in and out different crafter specialists depending on the specific task we wanted (it may have escaped Funcom’s attention, but there are three specialities of most crafter types, and only two can be prioritised by the bench - we no longer get to choose whether we want armour crafted by Shieldwright, Temperwright or Scoutwright depending on our specific purpose for it - now the game chooses for us, and invariably gets it wrong); and on and on.

Many of us just want to enjoy the game that we bought. Sadly that part of the jpurney ended for many of us when Funcom decided to remove feature after feature in the name of ‘improvement’.
