Conan Exiles Dedicated Server Launcher (Official Version: 1.7.11 / Beta: 1.7.12)

You have a couple options in your launcher that work great for me, when running the game client on the same machine as the server.

Check box that closes steam before launching the server (put a check in it)
Check box for Multihome (put a check in it)

That is all I do. I launch the server first (sort of obvious) then launch my game client and have no problems playing on the server machine.

Only reason I do this is for my solo clan. I run one client on my server to keep my clan alive if I should decide to delete my main character and start a new one. That way I can get invited back into my solo clan and keep all of my bases.

Ok, so i have managed to get my ports opened, as well as a static IP address setup but im not sure that this server is even launching. On my server launcher log screen all it keeps saying is “[2019.12.28-01.28.15:244][413]AnimBlueprint:Warning: Warning SLOTNODE: ‘EquipLeft’ in animation instance class AB_human_male_C already exists. Remove duplicates from the animation graph for this class.” Over and over and over totally spamming the log. I tried to connect to my server, using my external IP address and the game client port, but it cannot find it.

SO, how about some help???

you connecting to the server from the same computer that the server runs on? Different computer? What is your server name? I can look and see if I see it as available.

The server boot up does tend to spam that message a lot, but eventually will stop with those messages. I usually can’t see my server in the Steam server list until it has been up and running for a few minutes.

Support have passed it up the chain to be looked at:

Holidays are going to slow a response down, though. It’s not likely to be anything related to the tool, so it may not be answered in this thread…

We just enter 2020, and then the server launcher keeps saying there are mods updated, and list all mods in the server. I’d afraid that there is a 2020 bug in the launcher.

Year 2020 BUG

“Auto-Check for Updates and Restart” function has had a problem with the mods since 2020
When checking for mod updates it says that it has found an update for all mods, but there is no update
This always triggers a server restart schedule, which reboots the server in an endless loop

Workaround: Set the auto update to “Auto-Update on Restart” and not to “Auto-Check for Updates and Restart”

Yes If confirm same problem on my side^
Happy New year

Hey there, I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner. I’m pretty familiar with the SURFBoard modem group by Arris. This model is also a WiFi access point (AP) and router, correct?

As for the server, please try these steps.

  1. Close your Steam Client. Ensure it’s not running in your system tray.
  2. At your Server Controls: stop the server using the Stop/Start Server button.
  3. Tick the box up top that says “Validate Server Installation.”
  4. Click the Start Server button. Allow it to black-screen update and load. Ensure it says “game server is running” in the lower right corner. If no, click the Start button.
  5. Just to the right of where you ticked the box, you should see a drop-down box with the following:

IP address like 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1
Bound to the Network Adapter in your PC
That IP should be the same as your PC
Look below for your Steam Query Port

  1. Load your Steam Client. Click View | Servers. Click the LAN tab. Did it find your server? If so, favorite it. if not, go to 7
  2. Click Favorites. Click Add A Server. Type [IPAddress:SteamQueryPort#] no brackets, example - 192.169.0.1:27015, click Find Games At This Address…
  3. Click on your server and select “Add Selected Game Server to Favorites.”

Now you will be able to play locally. This should be the first diagnostic step that ensures your server is functioning. Without this, there’s no need or reason to risk exposure to the outside world.

At this point, you would be able to move onto Step 2, which exposes your network to outside internet queries.

Hello!

Just bougth a new computer that I will run a few servers on, first out is Conan, which I’ve hosted before, but this time, it gave me all kinda of headaches.

I got it to work, but, I have no clue as to why.

At first, I could see the server just fine, and join on all the LAN computers, but nobody outside could join via IP.

Tried portforwarding, DMZ, fiddling with the firewall, nothing. Except, I managed to stop the server from showing on LAN too.

Tearing my hair, I did a reset on the new computer, since it was brand new install and all, downloaded the server launcher, and tried again.

Yes, once more, the LAN works.

And, I noticed something, if a person writes the IP in steam under server favourites, without anymore, and clicks check for servers running, they can add the server too, but if anyone writes the IP:PORT, the server will show if added under favourites, but they get timed out when joining.

So, I have gotten everyone aboard, but I am confused, why would:

steam->servers->favourites->add favourites->IP->add selected work, but not:

steam->servers->favourites->add favourites->IP:PORT?

Onto the next, I’ve generarly had similar issues on Ark, Atlas and Dark & Light, but for some reason, all of a sudden everything works. Is it maybe the router and UpNp that can take a while to start working? Or some steam call that needs to go through before steam realizes the server is there? Just wondering, for future hair tearing references… :}

Hey. Question about server settings. Is it possible to see and / or change the parameter that is responsible for the probability of the appearance of slaves t4?
After updating the server, there were complaints of a rare spawn of such slaves. I conducted testing in accelerated mode and indeed, spawn has become very rare. For a long time at x10, I could not find a single armorer slave.
After searching for information in Google, I could not find such a parameter. In configs too.
I would really appreciate any ideas for solving the problem. Or maybe with the latest update they reduced their spawn?

Thanks a lot. If the information on the link is correct and the chance is 1-2%, this is very funny. I would understand another 5%, but not 1-2.

I’ll be back at work tomorrow, I did a quick check on the messages, and apparently the issues to fix are:

  • The check for update started failing on the first day of 2020
  • The broken restart signaled since version 1.0.40

is there anything else I missed?

And to everybody: Happy new year, and sorry for the bug, I’ll try to see what happened!

@Fritzli and @Yipman could you both click on the [?] button at the right of the Auto-Check combo selection, and when the dialog box with the update information appear, press CTRL-C and then PASTE that in a message here? (or in private if you don’t feel comfortable with that).

I need to know if that happens to everybody, because I tried this morning, and it’s not happening to me, for reference here is what I get:

It’s not a bug but i’m missing two features. a discord webhook when the automatic server restart is executed and when the function “start server if not running” is executed. best with two different messages

@Toolguy

Unfortunately, since last evening we have a problem

Our server has a problem at the automatic restart. i had this problem in the beginning (test phase of new rootserver) also with our old database of about 1GB. Currently our database is again 460-510MB.

he tries to restart the server and comes to ‘Game engine shut down’ but the process is not finished. i must kill it manually, then the automatic restart is triggered.

Technically it’s not a Launcher issue, it’s probably something you should signal in one of the support forums (I guess “server stuck when shutting down” or something like that).

I guess on my side, I could probably add some kind of option to “force kill” the server process if it is still running after some specified amount of time, but that comes with serious risks of corrupting the data.

I had a hunch. Thanks for ur fast reply.

That would be fine, currently there is an error that crashes the server, but the process is not terminated. Currently i have a python script running that checks the log regularly and stops the task if necessary.

Oddly enough i think some of what you guys are posting on are some issues that I had been seeing with the game server…

https://forums.funcom.com/t/testing-a-fresh-install-of-conan-exiles-for-server-side-noticed-major-performance-issues-and-bugs/99649/17

I keep getting this mensage on my DS: Rating request timed out with error 12.

Second machine i`ve tried and the same issue.
Ports fowarded, Ipv6 Disabled, Firewall Deactivated.

Installed XAMMP on the server machine to see if it is a DMZ fowarding issue, but its not, the xampp server runs fine and dont seems to be a port issue, people can see the server they just cannot join.

What i can do to solve this?
