Is there a way to tell armour/weapons apart - like which specialization it is?
I see the thralls have little blue overlay icons on them (watching @wak4863 videos). So he’s on the PC version. I assume the blue icons overlaid in the upper left corner on the thrall icons are built into the game and not some mod.
I don’t see these overlay icons on the crafted armour for example though.
When you apply reinforcements, spikes, plating, etc you get little icons overlaid - at least in the current console versions.
I assume there are no name changes (like flawless and exceptional on current console) to show temperwright or bladesmith, etc.
Does anything like the icon overlays happen for the items created by the specialists?
Or is there some identifier in the object’s info pane bullet list showing the specialization (like where it says low grade, light, bonus encumbrance, etc)?
If not, that sucks
It would make it really easy to identify at glance what armour I’ve already replaced, and for sorting, etc.
So short answer is no. There is no icon that displays on the armor/weapon to show what specializations crafted it.
You can tell which one crafted it by the different specializations by looking at the numbers for the item. Affected areas would be damage, armor rating, durability, and weight.
I have a silly idea that might work actually and at the same time it will help you to identify armor pieces vary fast .
1st , fix different wardrobes
2nd , dye them different
3rd , name the wardrobe with specialization and colour so you won’t forget .
I know that it will be confusing at the beginning but you’ll get use to it .
I always have chest in my room, with personally goodies.
I have closet to side, 1 cupboard is light, 2nd med etc…
I kinda assume when update happens, I’ll have to expand that side of house 3-4 foundations and lose my trees… To add more storage… or simply, (most likely) I wont use all of them versions. -_-’
That’s quite unfortunate. This was a perfect opportunity for those icon layers to be attached.
That’s going to be nightmare.
Say I have Armour X.
So the only way to know which specialization it is would be to have the others already crafted or craft a new one to compare against each other?!?
That seems pretty ridiculous to me.
Then say 2 months from now I go back to Armour X. These stats could be better. I should craft it in another specialization. Oh wait - which one was this? Oh I just crafted the same one. That’s annoying!!
I agree Armor stands & weapon racks like npc’s have would be helpful. If FC can’t figure it out I am sure DayBreak game could help them out after all Everquest 2 has had them for 15 years.
BTW you only need two sets of armor. One for Hot & one for Cold. The best for Hot is the Silent Legion set for Cold I curently use the Champion set. The other stats help very little in the long term.
