I have no mods on 1500 and the same thing is happening. I placed 13 crafter thralls yesterday, 11 of them are in the air in G9. Am i supposed to go to this place and build a staircase to heaven to get them back? is this a new fun feature?
How are new players supposed to work to get T4 crafters and have them disappear from their base? This is a GAME BREAKING bug. A lot of things we put up with. Losing 11 crafters in 1 day is ABSOLUTELY not one of those things.
Another great example of being Funcomed!
Iearned the hard way too…Now I play on my own dedicated server and if this happens ill just spawn them in…Ridiculous
I think we will find that some small(?) setting got through where the original location a ‘placed thrall’ has been set to by a player on placing it is not getting locked into that thrall, and/or not being ‘remembered’ by the server so that when it’s time to got to the next point, or to return, the thrall’s getting confused and reverts to the 0,0,0 default location that’s likely set up by Funcom Devs as their vanilla location. Possibly snuck through from their Testlive or whatever. Also wondering how baked in each thralls settings are when dealing with global servers, server load, local memory, connection issues, etc. Fun!
Kinds of things like that have slipped through before and are resolved by the (usual) need for a Patch and even Hotfixes after Updates to force that setting to stick with whatever the player sets.
Also, I imagine standard issues with lag, etc on live servers, not really seen on Testlive servers, mess around with cache, memory, etc.
Happily, the relative ‘silence’ from Devs has usually meant that there’s some screaming and wheel of pain stuff happening over at Funcom so maybe something soon.
If I were logging issues of thralls going missing, I would also note in tickets if there’s more rubber-banding, lagging, slip-stepping, and the like, especially if you have thralls following you and when you go past bases and there’s that staggered spawn in as the base spawns in.
I agree 100%. The reason it’s game breaking for me was about six years ago my clan on an official server was full with all my friends. Just recently after all these years they were finally in agreement to come back after this update. We are on an official PVP server. Now all my thralls that I worked very hard to acquire are gone, they all were in the air over that point. And now my friends are just laughing saying they are now NOT coming back, and why did they ever think they could trust Funcom, and I’m a fool for still playing. I deeply regret all the 100s of dollars I’ve spent on this game. My bladesmith flew away, I saw him there in the sky, and then it said “returning home” and then he was just deleted. It really breaks my heart that this was reported on the test server by many of us, and they didn’t fix it. And I’m upset now that my friends won’t be coming back due to just one more fouled up update by Funcom. And we were going to play their new Dune game together, and now that’s off too. I’m upset! I guess I’m a fool to trust these people to do anything right.
Game’s not broken. It’s not 100%, but it works. There are always issues after updates. Every time. They get patched and hotfixed each time. Takes time and it is not ideal, but it happens.
With private and modded servers it is a little different to the official ones. Off official, it is a little easier to plan before the update lands. Discord groups were recommending removing all thralls and placing in containers. Private servers are able to switch off the new thrall system until it gets patched - and that’s stopped a lot of thrall loss.
More thrall cages are available in most villages and there are traders in Sepermeru. If we have a bad purge we lose thralls and have to replace them.
Some players have been playing since pre-release and still play. There are lots of games out there, including Exiles. Enjoy either way.
Thanks a lot for your unwelcome speech. I’d tell you what you can do with it if I could be bothered. I’ve played conan since day 1, so your know-it-all BS speech is so arrogant it makes me sick.
They never will, they patch on Thursday and by Friday they realise the immense avalanche of civil organic polyphosphate flooding the servers, they sit open-mouthed thinking that this time too they have done an immense stupidity, meanwhile Friday evening arrives and then WEEK-END hunz hunz
We’ll talk about it again on Monday where there will be a schism of pro-reset players and no-reset players and in the end the clever technique of ‘let’s not do shit’ will win out
I just encountered 3 on the ground (none mine) being attacked and nearly killed by 2 zombies!?!? I killed the zombies, but my crafter - at least one of them is up in the air still.
On official last night our thralls were lagging so far behind us, then just teleporting to catch up over-and-over, it was a joke. On a performance basis alone the current state of this game is: broken.
