"I am writing this today, October 28, 2024, to report a critical and unacceptable situation. I am a PC player using the Microsoft Store version and I am currently blocked from all Official Servers. While Steam players have normal access, MS Store players were cut off without any prior notice.
I have over 8,000 hours of playtime on this single account. I have invested heavily in this game, purchasing every single DLC, multiple Battle Passes, and numerous items from the Bazaar, along with my Twitch Drops.
I have active bases on official servers and, because I cannot log in, I am at risk of losing thousands of hours of work due to the decay system. This is a total lack of respect for a long-term loyal customer.
Was there any official warning for this lockout? I demand an immediate fix or the suspension of decay timers for the MS Store platform. I should not be penalized and lose my progress after years of dedication and financial investment just because of the platform I chose to play on."
Wait, so basically, this guy and many other console-only players who played years on official servers will lose access to them on May 4th?? That’s just not fair.
No. Console players will still have official servers (on the old UE4 version) and will still have access to the bazaar (if they still want to make purchases). The only ones losing access to official servers (and the bazaar) completely are players on PC using MS Store or Epic Store (and players on Steam with machines too low spec to handle the new update). That’s still a lot of people potentially, but it’s not anyway near as many as you are thinking.
Essentially, there will be no official UE4 servers maintained for PC, so players on PC that cannot access the UE5 version will need to move to private servers or singleplayer/co-op. UE4 servers will still be maintained for consoles, but they will not have access to the UE5 upgrade, or future new updates.
it would of been nice if we were able to transfer our characters to the steam version of the game so we could continue playing. considering the characters are on the same frigging server. Now what happens? do they just sit there stagnant until decay happens?
If you leave them there, it seems pretty likely that’s exactly what will happen. If you want to salvage them, then you need to transfer them to either a private server that will not be upgrading, or to singleplayer/co-op.
Note: If players choose to continue playing in UE4 with Conan Exiles Legacy, they can do so in single player or on a private server. They can maintain their progress in Conan Exiles Legacy by doing the following:
Official servers: On May 4th, 15:00 UTC, all Official PC servers will be brought down in anticipation of the update to Conan Exiles Enhanced (UE5). The entire server database will be updated to UE5, including your character. Once this happens, there is no way to take your character back to Conan Exiles Legacy (UE4). To keep your character in Conan Exiles Legacy, you will need to remove it from the server prior to May 4th. You can do this using the Server Transfer Tool. You will then be able to migrate your character to a Conan Exiles Legacy private server or single-player game.
Note: You will retain your character level, progress, inventory, and followers, but will not be able to retain your bases or any other items placed in the world. To facilitate rebuilding, you can dismantle your base and store the materials and other items you wish to take with you in your followers’ inventories.
As with the various players transferring from Siptah, you’ll be able to take your entire follower list with you (so long as you exit whatever clan you are in and, if need be, transfer ownership of the relevant followers using the Thrall trading posts (knowledge)). Once you get to the other end, find a location and place a foundation (or start building a base) and you’ll be able to place them from the ‘followers’ tab.
As you say, it would be better if you were able to transfer your account to the steam version - various requests along those lines have been made, but realistically it is unlikely (especially given how little time there is left).
Sim e é exatamente o meu caso, mas já tenho o Conan da steam e consegui transferir a minha base para outro persongem, mas a grande questão é que não a justiça nenhuma nisso do mesmo jeito, pois a conta em que eu tinha tudo, todas as DLCs, droops da Twitch, e todas, mas todas as DLCs vendidas no bazar estão nessa conta microsoft. Isso é um absurdo. ter que comprar de novo, tendo já feito um ivestimento de centenas de dolares nesse game é no minimo um desrespeito. Feliz pela evolução do game não me entendam mal, mas mesmo assim o desrrespeito com o consumidor existe e é impossivel, não vê. a não ser que o cara seja um egoísta FDP. E ache que só por que ele tem o dele da Steam os outros que tem em outra plataforma não tem o mesmo direito. Todos tem o mesmo direito. Todos.
Yeah, it’s a very bad situation for PC players on Epic or Microsoft Store - even worse than it is for console players - because you lose even more. But hopefully there is a chance that you get the update to UE5 as soon as possible. If it is successful on steam, then we can hope that they would also upgrade the other PC platforms. (We hope they also upgrade consoles as well, but the other PCs shoudl be easier, because it is probably only the costs of certification that is holding that back.)
Maybe it is best for the moment to just maintain things on your new steam account and wait for the other platforms to also get the upgrade. Then you could go back to playing with your old account and not need to buy the dlcs and other items again. I hope it will happen soon for you.
