Does anyone know why there is a random camp of Dafari skeletons next to the Sinkhole?

They’ve been there forever. There’s a bit of story lore that you pick up in the game at some point that explains about that village, but I don’t remember it off the top of my head. I’m pretty sure it’s not in amongst the ‘scout reports’ that explain about where Imps come from. And it’s not Razma’s journals. But there is some piece that you pick up at some point that mentions a village being destroyed and then skeletons wandering about. Maybe someone else can remember the exact bit.

Nope - I was right the first time - it is one of the ‘Scouting Mission reports’ -
I witnessed a number of the cannibals dragging others of their ilk from the south and towards the sink-hole. With them, they had a cauldron of… something foul, I have no doubt.
They did not get far before one of their prisoners broke free and attempted to run. She was cut down immediately by her captors. In her death-throes she turned over the cauldron and the bubbling liquid sprayed across the others.
I watched, as the liquid burned the flesh off the bones of them, and yet - they stood still as if paralyzed, only managing to turn their heads towards their sun in a silent scream. Even as the liquid turned their flesh into a slurry that sloppily fell of their bones, they stood upright. I turned away and lost my dinner.
I woke to yet another horror the next day, as now the skeletons from the day before were now moving around, as if they were still alive. The dead walk these lands now - and I dare not move from my scouting spot. Damn you Hrolf for sending me on this scouting mission. You have doomed me!

I don’t remember the journal but I always assumed it was the result of corruption from Sinkhole , after all there are plenty of skeletons down there
Don’t forget there’s a couple of undead hyenas there too, probably had bad luck and they came too close
The scouting mission reports are found up on one of the ledges alongside the summoning place - there’s a little camp and a few scattered notes to find.
