Similar to what another user posted back on 5/16/23 (thread #223121, user chilloutandi), but they received no replies to so the thread got locked, after a recent update you can no longer use a dynamic DNS hostname to directly connect to a server in the server browser, but public IP still works. This affects anyone hosting servers from home that can’t get static IPs from their ISP, and also affects anyone running the Amunets Server Transfer mod for their private servers.
For those of us that host our own private servers for friends to play on, we typically have home ISP accounts that do not provide static public IPs and if we can’t use dynamic DNS to solve that problem, every time our public IP changes our friends can no longer join our server(s) until we tell them our new public IP.
For those of us private server admins that run Amunets Server Transfer, our public IP changing breaks server transfers for players, forcing us to stop the php service > update the public IP in the cluster.ini file > start the php service to restore server transfer functionality.
Is Funcom going to acknowledge this problem exists, and do they have any plans to fix it?
