I have been farming some bosses and I have encountered this behavior constantly. Thrall becomes pacifist in the middle of a fight. Does not respond to my commands, does not event move. Thrall will only attack again if takes damage.

She must have some backpain, carying all that gear. 
This is a well-known bug that was especially noticeable a year or two ago, but is now much less common. The enabled pvp mode helps, in this case you need to give the thrall a good kick, which will move him from his place and give him some damage, and he will come to life.
