Enemies stop attacking

I just play single player on PC. The issues I’m having all occur together and happen at any time during gameplay. Sometimes they happen after 5 minutes of playing other times its after 6+ hours.

The issues are my thrall stops attacking as do all enemies, I cant break bond with my thrall but i can order him to move and attack even though he won’t do the latter, if I die by jumping off a cliff (since enemies won’t attack) I can’t respawn, my follower list won’t populate and just has the 3 loading dots, the game will freeze if I try to exit to the main menu or exit the game completely, and it seems as soon as all of this happens, my game stops saving and I lose any progress since it broke.

I’ve tried to reinstall the game, delete all mods and play with none installed, play with just the base game with no dlc, install to multiple hard drives one of them being an ssd, and start over multiple times all to no avail.

It seems to start happening sometime after I make my first thrall but I’m not sure if this just happens to be a coincidence or a cause for my problems.

I found a couple other posts with similar issues but they were all closed with no responses so my apologies if this has already been answered and I just missed it.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Play single player until you make a thrall
  2. Attack enemies until they no longer attack you
  3. Check to see if everything else I mentioned broke too

If anyone ever has a similar problem I think I figured out what was going. The time on my PC has been wrong for about a month now and I think it’s due to a dying CMOS battery. The enemies stopped attacking again earlier tonight so I alt tabbed out of the game and reset my clock and lo and behold, they started attacking again. When I get my CMOS battery I’ll update this post if that’s not the fix, otherwise consider this closed.

Interesting, I had enemies stop to attack me on EU PvE official as well. Only some, but they randomly just stood there and let me kill them. Mostly animals however.
