Esc key is causing my game to crash with a fatal Error

Bug Description: Since the recent update, I have been having issues with playing the game. I have been wondering why, for about a week now, and just came to the conclusion that the game freezes and crashes everytime I press the Esc key just to go to the pause menu. I do not know if this is due to mods, or an issue with the update.

That’s exactly what happens to me with “BBJigglePhysics” Mod since a week or so, after working well for some months. If I switch off the mod everything goes well again. I thought it depended on the fact that this funny mod is no more in the list of workshops objects (it reads: “impossible to access the object”). Is it possible that, being incompatible with 2.6 update, it was removed? (I don’t know by whom).

It was removed long before 2.6. The author is no longer maintaining it.

Thank you for the information, Narelle. Now I understand how things work. However let me say that I hate this way of leaving the mods online without the possibility to really download them. You know, I am an old fan of The Elder Scrolls and I keep hundreds of plugs-in of Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, even Daggerfall. I downloaded them and they are mine. As an old player I dislike this way of placing everything on line. I loved Bethesda but I don’t like Steam. When you download a game but you don’t have the DVD it is not really yours. One day it could be removed from the web. Sorry for all this chatter.

Hmm, not really no. Mod authors are permitted to do whatever they want with their mods.

Mod author literally pulled the mod to prevent further use since they didn’t plan on updating anymore and knew outdated versions would cause problems. You chose to download and use a mod that hasn’t been supported for 2 major patches of Conan now.

So you are advocating that the mod author be forced to always update their mods? Doesn’t work like that.

I understand. I was used to old games on dvd’s that remained just the same, without continuous patches, so there were not problems with old plugs-in. I see that system is different now and, of course, a mod author cannot be forced to anything. This way everything is more changeable and, unfortunately, old people like me don’t like changes. Thank you for your time.
