Freezing game, then sometimes crashes and sometimes doesn't it just stays frozen

Bug Description:

I downloaded the new chapter 4: and now it loads much faster than it used to, however, I get to the character and hit “play” it loads my new character onto the beach in siptah. She takes about 6 or 7 steps to a dead body on the beach. I hover over it and see the items it’s carrying. I hit “F” to loot all and it stops and freezes. I play this in single mode, then I tried it in co-op mode, then verified files and all are fine, deleted the webpage cache, launched it again, same thing happened. It stays on that screen of her on the beach for over 3 hours!! I went to work and came home and that screen was still up. I did control alt delete, closed it, made sure I exited steam, tried again, same thing. I am now getting a rendering issue. So I downloaded and reinstalled my intel graphics card, stopped it from using steam graphics. Same thing happened. Froze. Now I’m rebooting for about the 12th time, and I’m going to try exiles rather than isle of siptah and see if that makes a difference. I have windows 10-11 (that’s what they call 10 with some upgraded stuff for 11 if and when I choose to change over to win 11). It’s a 64 not a 32. It’s been lagging really bad previously, I bought a Gryphon Router and upgraded my internet to fios, and get over 354MBps and still it lags.

@Feydd1 Some of your mods are outdated and will cause crashes in various scenarios.
(For example the multichar mod you have there is the old version that is no longer updated, there’s a replacement called “multichar reloaded”)

In any case, your issue is most likely caused by outdated mods, so what you could try is:

  • make a backup of your savegame (ConanSandbox\Saved\DLC_Siptah.db - since you said you play on the IoS map)
  • Troubleshoot the mod issues by replacing any outdated ones, then testing / if you still have problems then remove half of them at a time until you find the bad ones
  • Once you’re done and you have a proper modlist, then restore your savegame so that any damage you caused to it or items / bases that disappeared while you were removing mods are reverted.

Had this same exact problem. Was locking up in both exiles and isle of siptah. Changing out multichar for multichar reloaded so far seems to have fixed it. Have looted multiple bodies and chests in starting area of siptah with no issues so far. Thanks for pointing out the replacement for multichar.
