Game does not save or does not save properly
Bug Reproduction:
Tried to quit the game, game freezes, when I come back much progress has been lost. Walls that were built disapear. My home and bed was gonw one time when I restarted the game. It took away all of my attributes the last time I played (August 6, 2023). No sense in playing, I think I should get my money back.
Welcome to the Forum. Since the latest updates does not seem to save properly on any playstation console if you just purchased you be able to get a refund from Sony not sure of the policy. Other than invisible creatures on line seems to be working ok. @chooch

I’ve built a bunch of crafting stations and a very long reinforced wall. One time coming back to the game after shutting it down the wall was missing but my thralls were standing on top of the missing wall. I could walk my character through the missing wall area to my wall palisades. Coming back to the game one time mu Wheel of Pain and thrall were gone. Another time my home and bed were gone. I was respawned out in the desert.
Ii normally hit the menu button, go down to quit. Then I hit the button for Exit to Main Menu (or close to that). Sometimes the game freezes here before any white in the progress bar. Sometimes it makes a little progress before freezing. Sometimes it saves quickly and ok.

I played again this morning. Harvested rhino hides and ironstone. Quit game to save and test. Restarted, everything saved. Built a large addition to my wall. Lots of items getting crafted. Quit the game to save and test. Game froze at “Disconnecting from the game”. Tiny sliver of white in the progress bar. Waiting at least an hour before doing anything else.
I will use my computer lan for the playstation to see what happens.
From previous reply…after 2 hours the disconnect from game progress had not changed. I held the playstation button and closed the game. Went back to the game. Respawned in the desert. Went to my base. Most of inner and outer walls mussing. Thralls hanging in the air. My inventory was gone.
I connected a lan cable to the playstation. Played the game for a little over two hours. Went to quit the game. It froze on "Disconnecting from the game " again. I was not having this problem until the last update about a week ago. According to my son I’ve played this game over 240 hours and didn’t have this issue until the last 20-30 hours of play.
Also new in the last few days…I get a Missing Save Game message when starting the game. Two sentences about no saved game. After a short wait something will load, usually a messed up version of my game.
Thank you for the additional details. By any chance, when the game freezes when trying to disconnect: have you tried to leave the console there for a long time before forcing the shutdown?
If so, how much did you leave it there and does it eventually finishes, or does it crash even after the long wait?
I have tried leaving it on for hours. It just stays at the Disconnecting from game page until I shut it down.
New update. I transferred all my files to a different playstation 4, including Conan Exiles. I played for an hour and was able to save the game. I then played for several hours and built a lot on my walls. I was able to save and reload the game. I will try again tomorrow. Hard drive going bad on the old playstation? Don’t know how to test.
