I’m certainly looking at it from an overall perspective.
I wouldn’t be there to test one specific thing, or even focusing on the new features like perhaps a content creator would.
I’d be there from the ground up testing every single aspect because I know the little things we take for granted could be affected. In turn, those other little things could have an effect on the new features. The working document shows how that is possible right now.
Freedom to be there for whatever goals you have is fine.
I’m even seriously considering it. I’m not playing the game so I have time and while I have reservations about Beta’s purpose despite the explanation given and my own biases, I am thinking of contributing.
@DanQuixote you’re right though, hitting 2 birds with 1 stone is preferable. But I hope one wouldn’t lean on only testing new features. Despite time allotted, I’ve been playing the game long enough not to be caught in gameplay/workflow time sinks. So perhaps everything could be accomplished in the assumed 4 weeks we currently have. Writing bug reports notwithstanding.
Oh, indeed, I would hope not. (Not least given the possibility that theoretically unrelated features could always be affected in unexpected ways.) My ‘usual routine’ when I was on testlive was to simply play a new playthrough and see what I ran into (with a little bit of added focus on new stuff and any questions people could come up with). But I also don’t manage quite the same time dedication that I know you PVP folks can put in
I should think it could be, though I would probably struggle to get everything done in that time, simply because it’s not something I would likely be doing every day. And certainly the old two-week testlive runs would be a bit more of a struggle to get everything done, though I imagine someone could do it, with sufficient knowledge and dedication.
Mostly I figure sheer numbers of test players would be the best way to get everything tested as many ways as possible - different rigs gathering different results, as well as different players doing things in different ways. Which is why it is unfortunate that it has been allowed to get to such a state of dissaffection that many former testers don’t anymore. I’m not going to this time anyway, because I’m moving house this month, but I don’t know if I would or not otherwise. (Recent improved communication has me half considering reinstalling the beta client, but I think I’m happy to sit back and see how it goes this time.)
Had to move my well inside, my thralls were going through to gate to get to it outside. Yes they’d have let any one in standing there . I redid part of my build to use the big well, and I don’t like it. Going to have to play around and see if thralls will go to fountains or if it has to be wells.
Right off I can’t remember what fountains you can drink from.
But I need to get on and explore to find some of the cages???
