So… here’s the situation: I die in a hot zone… I come back to get my loot again… its still a hot zone… i pick my stuff up… and I HAVE TO RE-EQUIP EVERYTHING… all the items in my equipped armor slots… and all my quick access bar…
THIS DRIVES ME BONKERS! Is there a way to fix this? Like picking up our own stuff all the items goes back in their previously slotted slots? Even a Mod maybe?
I dont mind loosing my stuff and having to come back to pick it up… but AS I PICK IT UP can they go back to where they were in my inventory/quick access bar???
TOO often I have a lot of stuff on me… I die… come back to my corpse… I try to run away but I’m too heavy and now i cant run… because most my armor gave me bonus for carrying stuff but since I am not wearing it I’m too heavy… and get Killed AGAIN 'cuz I didnt have time to equip my stuff and run away
I’ve never had an issue with items not going back into my hotbar.
However, armor I have to double click. All I can suggest is getting good at speed-gearing with double click really fast. It’s what I do and works well.
Just play a bit smart when this sort of thing happens. Kite the enemies a good distance away from your gear so you can rush back with a bit of space to grab and equip your stuff. Find something to climb to equip your gear. Another alternative is to always carry a small box with a basic kit that you slap down with a bedroll close to wherever you’re headed so you can kill enemies near your gear before you try to grab it. There’s plenty of workarounds. Funcom does not have a great history of changing mechanics successfully so I’d be more inclined to hope they don’t mess with this and introduce a dozen new bugs in the process.
Hi Tef-Tef and welcome to the community! Question: what is your mode of play? Are you on an official server, private server, singleplayer game…? Do you have access to the Admin Panel Tef-Tef? Because depending on your mode of play, I may be about to prevent you from ever having to worry about that problem again.
Pause the game then go it ‘Settings’. From here go to ‘Server Settings’ and into ‘General’ > and click on the box titled ‘Make Me Admin’. From here go back and into ‘Survival’ > and ensure that the box for ‘Drop Equipment On Death’ is unchecked. You will now no longer drop all of your goodies when you die! This comes with an added benefit. When you wish to return home quickly after travelling long distances you can simply Pause the game, select ‘Remove the Bracelet’, and choose to respawn at your Bed at home…with ALL of your goodies!
Assuming you have been able to do this there are 2 other settings worth adjusting while you are here. Go out again and into ‘Pet And Hunger’ > and ensure that the ‘Use Minion Poulation Limit’ is also unchecked. You will no longer be limited in the number of Thralls and Pets you can own. Finally, go back out and into ‘Abandonment’ > and ensure that ‘Disable Building Abandonment’ and ‘Disable Thrall Decay’ are both checked. As a result of the prior anything which you build will never decay.
