i dont know if it is related to the gibbet being moved to decorations instead of companions under crafting stations,
gibbets placed before the issue still shows the taskmaster, but if picked up and place it it does not show the taskmaster again.
please also make sure the taskmaster does not disappear once it is braking a thrall in the gibbet.

I see them in mine but it’s about the distance of a lesser wheel placement so if its against a wall or something, your thrall could have meshing issues.
pick up the gibbet and place it down again ., you will see it no longer show up
My gibbets show the taskmaster if there is no thrall on the gibbet. If a thrall is currently cooking, the taskmaster disappears until the thrall is removed.

Exactly. It has been this way since the Gibbet was introduced.
At this point, it appears to be classed as a feature.
The Taskmater will reappear when the thrall is cooked. They just disappear when thrall is cooking.
Because, reasons.

you are not reading, the step by step i posted above.
find a gibbet you own
pick it up.
use your hammer to deploy a new one,
put the taskmaster back in the gibbet.
see ifs not there despite of not cooking anything but it is sitting in the thrall slot of the gibbet.
Sigh, you are, simply, wrong.
The gibbet does not refuse to display a taskmaster. It removes the taskmaster from view when a thrall is being converted.
Your, “process” is to throw away a thrall in order to force the task master to reappear.
Why?
The taskmaster will reappear when the thrall is converterd.
What is gained by picking up the gibbet and throwing away the thrall in it?
Seriously, possibly the worst advice I have seen and it boils down to:
“Spend time gathering resource, then throw them away, because, reasons.”
you havent done the repro steps i gave you right?
let me share some screenshots.
the gibbet closer to me is redeployed, the one behind it wsa set up several months ago, that gibbet display the taskmaster as long as it is not converting a thrall,
the one close has a taskmaster i just added.
as you can see its NOT deployed and you can clearly see there is nothing being converted there.
if you just do the step by step, you will reproduce it.
try putting a new gibbet down, add a taskmaster and see.

And you try to put a “wild” Thrall into your new Gibbet. When you take a broken Thrall out your Taskmaster will be visible again (maybe, with great probability). It looks strange but it works in such a way.
Sigh.
I’ve used the Gibbet since the thing dropped. I have placed and used them 100’s of times.
I have moved them, when they could be moved, I have picked them up and replaced them when they stopped being able to be moved.
Taskmasters display as long as there is no one being converted.
On the rare occasion they do not, leaving render range and coming back resolved the render issue.
I have never had to discard a thrall being converted to make a taskmaster reappear on a Gibbet.
I have never had a taskmaster display when a thrall is in a Gibbet.
