Bug Description:
Hardened Steelsmith Journey, I have harvested black ice with my pick and the game will not advance the journey. I tried crafting a hardened steel and it will not advance.
Bug Reproduction:
I have harvested black ice from the outside of the bat demon vault and the center of the map. This bug still persists.

Can you, please, confirm if you were able to complete any of the steps for the “Hardened Steel smith”?
There are problems with the missions. It doesn’t specifically check for things you’ve done before.
You should think very comprehensively, there are many more problematic tasks 
If you looted with “star metal” “pick” “pickaxe” it may not accept it. Use “steel pick” directly. or use “iron pick”.
It may also be region specific. Try somewhere other than the “Black Ice” cave. mountaintop try. There must be a way. good luck
You mention it’s a modded server? Funcom will only get involved if this is an issue duplicated in a vanilla, unmodded game as one of the mods may be interfering.
Also, make sure your harvest pick is vanilla too, just in case it was not.
It does not work with stone or Iron pick, it’s steel pick or better. The golden pick, or downloaded picks, or, pick axes are not going to update that. I would try the black ice above New Asgarth above the bat caves, there are 5 nodes, 2 and 3 up on top of the hill very near the named Dragonhorn. High above the Yeti.
I tried the Frost giant caves, but didn’t have a steel pick, as soon as I got a steel pick, it worked. Also, it only updates on destruction of the node, so hit it the full 3-5 times. Hope it works for you!
