Help with Journey Step

I’m having trouble with the Journey Step “Defeat a Surge Enemy” in Chapter VIII

I’ve summoned many surges now, including a max-power North alter surge. And I’ve defeated all the spawns, but the journey step won’t complete. This is obviously a Siptah Journey step, since it mentions a Surge, and the steps are different than those in the Exiled Lands.

Has anyone completed this journey step? And if so, what did you do to make it pop?

I might be wrong, but possibly it did complete for me in the past when i fought the npc falling down from the wild surges. So maybe its impossilble to complete now that the wild surges are gone, prolly forgot to remove the journey step.

You could well be right. I vaguely remember it popping for me on another character several months back.
