You donât need to, unless you want to or decide to. Thereâs nothing in the game that makes you start over every year.

For this game type, you cannot. The game is autosaved on progress.
If you are playing a local game, you can make a copy of the DB before you start, but there are no save points.

The default save folder is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved
In there youâll find all your save files. The game automatically saves every couple of minutes. The file âgame.dbâ is your latest save - if you want to back it up so that you can come back to it, just copy that file to a folder or your desktop. (The other files in the save folder - âgame_backup1.dbâ etc are just earlier saves, so you can go back further if you want to.)

@DeaconElie is absolutely correct. Donât push it , enjoy it . In order to unlock new journey steps you have to spend feat points too .
One really handy advice here is this.
Fix a shelter for you ,your benches doesnât need shelter. Later on with better tools and attributes you will be able to harvest faster and in enormous quantities.
Donât worry about the spoiling meat, every single animal provides, even Human flesh is eatable. So black Ice is a far goal from now, donât bother.
If you wish to lvl up decent fast on the starting river fix each stone weapon and learn how to fight with it. Place bedrolls close to your fights but not in spawn points and fight relentlessly. Being effective in fights is your best bet. In order however to be effective you need to learn the moveset, the combo and opponents weak timing or stagger. Learn how to fight and the lands are yours, nothing else will help you better to dominate.
For what is worth, Kurak cave where you learn sorcery has decent weapons and tools rng. But are you ready for corruption? I donât think so.
Then the fortress in Savanah has npc spawns with 100 % hardened steel weapon drop and other goodies, but you are literally one shot for them.
Why rush ???

You need to be able to build a siege foundation (and arm). It takes the boulder for ammo.
Try doing the journey steps⊠they can be a real pain the a$$ but they will teach you how to play the game and how to make / acquire materials
