How does the server transfer function operate excuse me?
Currently it doesn’t function because it’s not done.
I think it does now. They put out instructions on how to use it. I think it’s in the PC discussion threads somewhere.

The QoL and Bugfixing update + Server transfers!
I think they did finally do it. 
So Clan leaders cannot transfer. When transferring your character to another server you will lose the following:
- All buildings/placeables that belonged to the character will be abandoned and decay
- The association with all thralls that belonged to the character
Does this mean if someone in my clan transfers, it has no affect on my clan buildings, thralls, etc?
Also, do they have to leave the clan to transfer? @Community

Can anyone tell me what to do in this situation, or if there are players who have successfully transferred?

I am having the same issue, my inventory is not over encumbered either. If anyone knows please reply. 
I am not in a clan either, so idk
You can’t be a leader of a clan and do it either. Hopefully whatever this is will be fixed soon, it just came out too, so it’s expected to have bugs.

Open a new steam account, create a new character, have a friend join your clan and then add the character to your clan. I did this when CE was on sale for 14 US during the summer sale.

Is there a limit on the number of items you can move? No excess weight?
Dont try and transfer, its very broken. Friend got put back to lvl 1 and none of his stuff transferred
I don’t know how to report I thought that is what I was doing by posting it here. I can’t start new threads on here either only reply to existing threads. Plus it was also more of a warning than a complaint
