Are they though? I mean, if they are shutting down servers that have, on average, 1-3 players on average during peak hours to merge them into servers with 6-9 players on average during peak hours then are those people really losing much other than a ghost town that they sat around in by themselves? Meanwhile they get what everyone has been complaining about for the last two years, more populated official servers. I am struggling to see exactly how this is such an “abomination”.
But then again, just like everything else with not just this game but every funcom game. It doesn’t matter how much people cry and beg for something. As soon as they get it they cry endlessly about how horrible it is.
Necessary evil.
It is something that we all agree that must be done for the “general good” of the game.
I am not crying here, I am sorry if I give this impression, i just sympathize the fellow exiles that will “lose” from this action.
Especially me, I won’t lose anything at all, I let everything to decay 3 weaks now.
Did I see this coming?
Definitely No.
I did it to give respect to the new players, because my bases were lagging horribly the area around.
Officials are free, for players to enjoy online gaming. Through officials I met wonderful people to play with, but I never felt or reacted that I own the place. I remember when I started on 3728 I was asking the permission of other players too if I could build outposts in some places. If I had just one negative voice, I would stand back. You can always ask @anon83039162 for confirmation if my word is not enough, or @sestus2009, hopefully I made friends here.
But this is not the point, the point was always the frustration of the few that will lose from this action, so the least we can do is to give sympathy to their situation.
The best? Like I said before about a post of a fellow exile that was offering materials so the “refugees” can rebuild. And THIS is an example to follow, so I will keep just THIS, only this actually, the rest is already past my dear friend @Oduda and there it must stay .
Oh do not get me wrong, I never claimed that you were one of the people crying. That was just a general statement of people on reacting to this news.
I fully agree, I hope there are lots of people out there who welcome their new neighbors with open arms (and a helping hand). If people want to build a better community on their servers then it starts with them. I always try to help new people out in game, when I find out there are new players (like brand new to conan exiles) on a server I play on I offer them help with thralls, items, mats whatever will help them get started so that they will hopefully get hooked on this amazing game.
I am not a great fan of whiskey, but I remember I was a four roses person, not Jack Daniel’s when it had to come on bourbon.
I don’t drink alcohol except when I barbecue. Beer on barbecue is my must, I cannot imagine my self without a cold beer in this situation, this would be an abomination to me .
When I was a buck journalist, the older editors tried to send me on stories that would turn my stomach. One of them was to the coroner’s office after an Ohio River drowning, envision the first cocoon scene from Silence of the Lambs. As he flung open the slider, he exclaimed “Sweet Ambrosia!” and truly I would not disagree.
To this day, I still have conflicting feelings about petunias, and ambergris. Funny how our olfactory works. #oldreporterabomination
