Interesting discovery regarding the heroes❗️

Many people reported problems with either Liu-Fei‘s or Freya‘s quest, or both.
And that it seems to be impossible to do both quests simultaneously.

I might figured out a way to work around this.
I managed to progress with both quests at the same time.

Disclaimer: i play on ps5! So this “workaround” could possibly not work on whatever platform you might play. This workaround propably also won‘t work if you started one of the quest lines already.

(Maybe @Kikigirl could fit this information into your list of cutrent bugs and issues, sorry warrior princess but i couldn‘t read through all that …anyways)

WORKAROUND :

The trick is to simply start both quest lines, but to start with Liu-Fei!
It’s also very important to do Liu-Fei‘s tasks FIRST before you continue with Freya‘s quest line!

This way i was able to have both of them showing up at my improvised camp and i was able to interact with both of them.

However, sadly Freya‘s quest line is a bit longer. While i already got my Liu-Fei, i just went to new asgarth wit Freya what means i have to wait 8 hours for the finally against the bitch.

Of course i also started Liu-Fei‘s quest line again, but can’t deliver the ingredients because the Freya quest line is still going (i assume).

Of course FC needs to fix this stuff, but if this works on your end too it‘s propably a much better solution than doing them one after another. :man_shrugging:

Additional tips:

Freya‘s quest line is longer but also buggier.
Sometimes she gets stuck (like after collecting the ingredients) or doesn’t follow you.
IF friendly fire is active just kick her, this will make her snap out of it.
If friendly fire isn‘t active lure a nearby enemy to attack her, this will make her snap out of it as well.

In new asgarth sometimes she stops following, in this case run back outside where you met her before and talk to her again.
To avoid that npcs attack Hagarth wich they unfourtunateley do, clear all the npcs nearby.

Also don’t attack Hagarth yourself and don’t have fighter thralls with you :exclamation:
Otherwise he won‘t go in this down kinda state where you can talk to him, he will just die, Freya has to beat him in order to get him into this down state.

But even if he dies before you can talk to him, he should respawn if you run away out of render distance.

In the following videos by @Wak4863 you can see what our heroes are capable of in case you think they are useless. (Even though some of this will propably get fixed… eventually)

Would be nice if this helps some of you, and of course feel free to give some feedback if it works for you to progress with both quest lines.

Happy hunting :metal:

P.s. If this turns out to be a reliable workaround it might be a useful information for the community @Wak4863

Freya gets stuck in place every time after collecting ingredients for me. Using the Return command gets her back to following properly.

The first time I did Freya’s quest line the only campfire that worked was the large one. I’ve only used that one since so I have no idea if that was a fluke or not.

Just for the record you can’t pre-collect the notes at Stormwatch for her. Need to be on that step of the quest.

Seems I’ve been lucky for a change. Done both quest lines several times over now and have had no issues beyond those listed above.

As a disclaimer I have not finished Freya’s quest line because… I haven’t been playing all that much. BUT:

I had no issues with this personally. I did not need to use any commands for her at all as she never got stuck in place after collecting her ingredients.

I just made the little campfire, the first one you learn to make, and that one worked perfectly fine for me. :woman_shrugging:

But I think that this shows more than anything that these quests are riddled with issues. Sometimes they work for some people, and other times they do not work for other people. I happened to be lucky enough not to encounter these specific issues but that does not mean that they do not exist. It does mean that they might be harder to diagnose and reproduce on the part of the programmers thus becoming harder to fix, but that does not mean they do not need to be fixed.

Yeah that’s really strange, i have another charakter and with her i also started both quest lines but i did the stuff for Freya first.

When i went to Liu-Fei afterwards i couldn‘t deliver the sacrificial blood flasks, the dialog option was simply not available… :man_shrugging:

But with my char above and by doing Liu-Fei‘s stuff first i could complete both … i hope they fix it.

Age of heros and of course they are buggy af

There seems to be another layer as well. Noticed today two people who were doing Freya’s quest line at the same time were each having quite a bit of oddness.

Perhaps the, or at least one, reason I’ve been lucky with the quests is that no one else was doing them at the same time. A possible benefit of being late to the party.

That is a possibility, I have not noticed anyone else running around with Freya while I was doing my quests either.

Well, there is always a second Freya for me in the volcanic forge, at new asgarth and at her hovel as well… i wonder if those are there for other players or if it’s just a bug.

But I don’t think multiple players can do the quest at the same time. The animals at the hunt are limited for example… Hagarth too…

Very confusing

Make Freya beautiful (at least prettier than an ape) and get rid of the efing 8hr timers on single player. Who thought that was a good idea anyway?
Players should want to engage with the game, not be forced to do it through this type of smart ass shenanigans.

My completely uneducated guess is that the long hours are meant as a way to boost login numbers per day. Since most are only going to do one step of the quest per day. I’m assuming that more logins look better on the report to management when it comes due.

Sort of like getting people to log in daily for, oh, a battle pass or something similar.

That’s also my guess and I hate it.

That was one of the reasons behind the battle-pass. Encourage people to log in more frequently to “do the things to get the things”, but since it could be cheesed in a matter of hours via console commands they eventually had to “re-vamp” the system, which could be cheesed as well (not as quickly but still ridiculously quick). Thus it failed it’s intended purpose and was scrapped. Now they added this shinny new “hero” who required 8 hour cool-downs in between each part of their quest. Why? Well I think you hit the nail on the head.
