Isle of Men 2.0.0 now live!

I made a lot of runs in single player and a lot of testings so i can confirm this…
On ps4…
If you set your respawn timers on “3” the next npcs will respawn after 20 minutes no matter the rendering distance.
The greatest reason i had to test was the Skelos well exit.
I had a serious issue with the entrance keepers and the long loading screens, that without this setting i would be butchered while in loading screen!

However! It didn’t work all the times to all the camps. And i couldn’t understand why. Sometimes, if i happened to die in a camp that i butchered but i died from bleeding too (yes these cooks are my worst ) i was going back seeing all the corpses and new npcs spawn :man_facepalming:.
So i believe that we have an anomaly of the system here, but hopefully not in the camps that this mechanic was important to work, like Skelos for example!

So no, i don’t believe you are wrong @tin_egg and @rolee9309 but i can assure you that i am not wrong either.
What happens is the typical…
Game errors :man_shrugging:

In the Bowels of the mountain, after the first Yog altar, the textures never load, even after a PC restart. Is this a mod bug, or a my PC bug? :grimacing:

oh yeah that… it’s a byproduct of the mesh I got for that cave… It’s on my to fix list but its low on the list because it’s so dark in there…

It’s not you… it’s me

The reason I haven’t dealt with it yet is because in order to make it look right, I need to go thru and touch all the original materials used for those caves. The textures are kinda funny so when I replace them with the volcanic rock, most look fine, but a couple look like that. So what I need to do is go edit the original cave textures to make them look volcano-y so that they are consistent. That’s why I’ve had a bit of inertia on the fix… I could replace it with a texture that didn’t have that weird look, but it would be a mossy cave texture that wouldn’t match the rest…

Oh, okay. Do you need my help to tell if I see other weird textures, or are you aware of every one in the cave?

I’m aware of that cave’s “imperfections”…. Aside from needing lots of detailing. Lava needs zest too. Its a tad “lukewarm”. That was my first time using that caveset and I didnt have a technique down.

so one of our players found this “There is a hole in the map under the furnce, or where the furnace is supposed to be maybe?”

just thought i’d get that in here for you.

Is it from a distance or is it still a hole up close?

Okay, let’s see how this goes:

DP Modding Discord

I’ll put it on the mod page at a later date… figured I’d post it here for those who have been following the thread.

A couple of us have been playing on our own private server and loving this so far, thanks!

Question: I’ve explored maybe 40-50% of the map. Where do I learn sorcery?

Question2: I have the nail puller mod in. I noticed that when I turn off music altogether, I still tend to hear music. Is there a fix for this?

EDIT: Question3: Just started up our server and all npcs except our thralls are missing. Bug?

It takes a bit of time for all the mobs to load upon restart. A few minutes at least depending on the server hardware. With nail puller, it mainly affects combat music depending on how I had to insert the sound (table or cue). I can change a table with puller but not a sound cue. Sorcery is somewhere in the volcano… maybe someone else can spoil it for you but I shouldnt!

Thanks! Unfortunately, mobs don’t load even after 10 minutes. Seemed to happen only after today’s update. We ended up creating a new server for now, but would love to fix the old one!

The new server npcs load? That would be very curious… I dont even know what could cause that. Is IoM the only mod or are you using more? If so, could you post the modlist? Might just try a second server restart if you didnt already. I dont touch the base mechanics of how npcs load so I dont have any clue how that would even happen….

Another question I would have is how much ram your server is using vs system ram. Maybe it peaked over the available and stopped. Todays update was just an adjustment to some audio in one cave so it should have been completely unrelated.

No worries.

I’ve even tried loading previous server backups to no avail. We can see our thralls, but everywhere I’ve run around to on the map is void of npcs (animals, humans, etc)

I’ve reboot the server a couple times. it’s running on a machine with 32GB of RAM available. When I created the new server, I renamed the dedicated server launcher folder to .old and let it generate a new setup

So just so I have the datapoint and understand, you started a new IoM server and it works fine? I wonder if something got corrupted on your old database somehow… I will keep this in mind if it ever happens again and will also flow it to FC in case its revealing something deeper in the code. Thanks for the info.

Yep, that’s correct. I just renamed the folder that Dedicated Server Launcher creates the first time you start a server then reran it and it created a new folder. New server is working fine so far (playing right now).

I have the same problem, I just forgot to mention. I mean, I use the nail puller, and don’t turn down the music, so I hear the ambient and the combat music at the same time, when in combat.

I will look into this. I mismatched the volumes to try and make it unnoticeable but yeah…

… sh*t happens?

I have it figured out… I’ll roll out a Nail Puller patch with the next IoM Patch at the same time. It involves a sound class change and IoM has a few bug fixes coming before I upgrade to the devkit when it drops.
