Knocked out NPC's melting into the ground

This might be similar to this one:

Map: Siptah
Version: Test server, version 2.6

I have noticed that after knocking out an NPC with a truncheon, the NPC disappears from view very quickly. On occasion I have moved on to deal with another enemy, turn around maybe 10 seconds later and the original NPC is gone. Nowhere to be found. If you are lucky you might still see a foot sticking up above ground.

The main problem with this, as I see it, is that you have to decide if you want to drag this thrall to your wheel of pain before finding out what the rest of the camp contains. Because if you do finish the camp first, then chances are the first NPC’s you knocked out will be gone.

And yes, sometimes if you leave and come back a few minutes later they may reappear.

This has been a long term problem and does not only happen on Siptah, in fact this has been a problem since before Siptah even came out. There are two simply ways to resolve this.

#1, log out and then back in. When you log back you will you find the NPC unconscious and above ground.

#2, move out of range and then go back. Simply by moving out of render distance and then going back you will find the NPC unconscious and above the ground.

That by no means solves the issue at hand but at least you can get your thrall back to your wheel. This happens, as far as I know, on all game types (PC, PS and XBOX). I hope this at least helps you to get your thralls while FC works on the issue.

I’ve gone a few months without seeing this. But its been popping up recently. However a work around may work. If you use the binding where you saw them sink into the ground, it may nab them anyway. I’ve been able to do this each time it happens.

The bug as it was originally this wouldn’t work. However, logging out and back in fixed it back then. It might be something to consider if my suggestion above isn’t working or feasible.

I haven’t seen this on Siptah, but it has happened on Savage Wilds.

old bug mostly happening when you knock out or kill a npc whit the last hit of heavy combo attack try to avoid it or go out of render distanz and come back or log out log back in

I do understand that you already now the workaround of this issue. Another good thing they added, that for me is the most important of all is that the npc you knocked down, after some minutes it will revive the knock down and reappear. This is the most important for me, I lost a lot of named crafters this way. Unfortunately this does not work on purge, but in surge it does. I would be really happy if one day we won’t have this issue at all. Yet I have to confess that this problem now is way minimized, and I feel more secure now to leave the knocked down npc, continue my fight and collect it later, because even if I won’t find it, after a few minutes it will be back to knock it down again and collect it.

It’ll be nice to have this addressed.

The following has worked for me every time except once, during a Purge. When your knockout falls under the soil, don’t despair. Run in a straight-ish line for about 30 seconds to leave the area. Interact with anything in the new area: pick a berry, punch an NPC, open a chest. Return to the unconscious thrall. Good luck, just a workaround!
