Hey there, Exiles. Been a while!
We have a (kinda) new mod up on our Steam Workshop page. It’s a top-to-bottom overhaul of Lament, a mod I’ve been tinkering with and maintaining for a few years.
Lament’s Major Features:
DEATH EFFECTS let you set up death penalties that apply to players when they die, such as corruption, item durability damage and item drop.
All of these are customizable. You can set them to begin at any character level, sparing your nooblets, and to be as punishing or forgiving as you want. You can also create Benediction Zones to act as safe spots of respite from your maniacal cruelty.
REANIMATION (new with this version) lets you set up your own respawn system to replace the classic bed/bedroll system. This is also highly customizable; you decide where to place Reanimation Sites and what the rules for respawning are. You can even create unique regions, called Dread Zones, where these rules can be totally different, imposing their own death effects and reanimation rules.
You want to have an area where players who die respawn in the enemy thrall pits? We got you.
You wanna set up your whole map to have MMORPG-esque graveyards? We got you, dawg.
You wanna have a world of neverending PVP conflict, where players always respawn back at their clan stronghold? WE GOT U.
COVENANTS (also new with this version) are groups of clans and players you create and manage. Think of them as factions. They allow you to make Reanimation Sites exclusive to certain players, or to require certain players to respawn where you want them to.
This new version also has oodles of help text baked roght into the menus, so you’re only a button click away from understanding what any given slider bar or checkbox is actually for.
I don’t want to word bomb too egregiously here (I mean, I do, but I won’t), so if you’re curious, you can read the mod’s more detailed description on the workshop:
You can find Lament v3 on the workshop here:
There’s also an even more detailed user’s guide you can find linked from our Discord. Also, we’re there, and we’re pretty okay I guess.
