Leg break / Twisted leg animation after dismounting a horse? How to fix

"Honestly, it looked so realistic at first that I thought it was an actual feature of the game, like my character just brutally rolled their ankle jumping off the horse! :crutch: "

Hey everyone! Probably well know animation/skeleton bug after dismounting on uneven terrain completely breaks your leg, leaving you looking like a horror movie character :scream:

Woman with Leg Cast: Could Be Worse!

:joy: But don’t worry, there is an easy way to pop your leg back in place!

The solution:
• :man_in_lotus_position: Open your emote wheel and trigger any full body animation.
• Emotes like Sit or Sleep on back work perfectly.
• :counterclockwise_arrows_button: Forcing a new position instantly resets your character skeleton to normal stance.

Well that one’s new to me.
I’d suggest reporting it to helpshift - Contact Us — Conan Exiles Help Center - since it is some sort of bug. Good that you have found a workaround - makes it lower priority for the devs to find a fix - but still worth reporting.
I’ll add it to the player-maintained list.

Edit: I’m assuming this happened without mods?

Im about 99% sure this is a bug related to mods. Ie. Tot! custom. In my experience it is triggered at least by riding modded mounts.

Bring up tot pose editor (default button B), click the foot icon shown here and tick “disable legs IK”. Afaik this should solve it…

If theres no mods, then … a bug report might be in order.

It’s a mod bug.

Somebody said Devious Desire is causing it.

DanQuixote Yes, that happened on an unmodded game. If it repeats I will do as you suggested. (I was told it is and old thing)

Well know I know the meaning of an idiom for “break a leg”:joy:

demonado Thank you for the info. My friend explained to me that Devious Desire actually as a built in feature to counter it. (I’m new and not very technical, but on his world I had no issues)

Thanks for confirming that it happened without mods. That is very unusual. I’ve many times seen followers wind up with an odd arm, but not seen the player end up with an odd leg. But there’s always bugs somewhere, lol, and very few people have likely seen all of the possibilities
