No it is not. It is about having to watch ■■■■ while playing a game. My Jones came across a map room that had naked people in all positions. We left the server.
It is about s e x not mods. Im glad its gone.
Gosh, I sure am glad you’re here to be Morality Police. You saw something objectionable, you left the server. Problem solved.
More OT: I see this sort of thing on the Nexus all the time in regards to Elder Scrolls & Fallout mods. “Abandoned by original author, updated by me; if original author wants this taken down, I will take it down”. Or “Original work by so-and-so, left behind due to RL issues, now continued by me w/the blessings of so-and-so”. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill.
What exactly are you talking about?
That would be totally fine and if you read any of the post made by people on this thread is all anyone was asking for. However if you read the original post that is not what was asked for hence why people reacted the way they did.
Gosh, sure am glad you are here to not comprehend what people are typing there. Mr. Jones was point out the hypocrisy of the original poster claiming that the topic was purely about mods and not about watching sex what what is the one and only purpose of that mod and thus was complete and utter BS. Now, Mr. Jones then pointed out that in his person experience when encountering a server with this mod and seeing that this was in fact what the mod was being used for he left the server as this was not what he wanted in his Conan Exiles experience. That has nothing to do with being the “Morality Police” or he would have gone on a crusade to have the mod removed or some garbage like that. Instead, he simply moved on to another server that didn’t use it. Is that really all that difficult to comprehend?
You simply can’t account for people who don’t get humor, or the narratives they’ve projected onto someone else’s comments don’t allow them to find humor. I see at least 3 attempts at levity in the OP but if you don’t see them, I’m not going to try to point them out as humor is probably not an inherent strong suit to your personality makeup.
The OP enjoy’s a mod and is asking someone to pick up the work needed to continue enjoying it. One could of just as easily projected onto his/her comments that they would expect proper permissions be given, but instead, some of you just assume he means to rip off someone else’s work. If he has a history of this then let me know and I’ll change my tune, otherwise, get a grip.
Agreed. He was just asking for it to be updated. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Geez.
Instead of screaming and kicking here, op could join the mod discord and learn why the mod update is delayed, who is going to take over and so on … Nothing more to say …
My problem is that you joined the discussion with “I would love to see this mod disappear for good.”
Which is a typically “I don’t like it so no one should be able to use it” behaviour. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. Why you feel you have to put that statement in the beginning of your answer to a thread like this?
It doesn’t help the op with his problem.
Same goes for “the Jones problem” which exactly isn’t one. There is a mod list for servers and you can decide to join a server based on that. When you see a server running sexiles or flying unicorns and you don’t like it, don’t play there.
But back to topic. Maybe it’s really the best to check the mods creator on steam or check if he/she/they have a discord channel or something and ask the questions there.
I took a look at the mod page.
This mod last updated in Dec 2019, less than 6 months from the time of this post.
I don’t consider that “dead” modding is not on a schedule, people do it for fun in their spare time.
Also at least one of the Authors is still active, all this hoo-ha could have been avoided with a DM in Steam.
Actually I play on a couple servers that use it. I personally don’t use it and I really don’t care that others do as long as they aren’t forcing their emotes onto me, which they have been respectful thus far not to. But on other servers I have seen people try things like that and like Mr. Jones I have simply left those servers. I never once said that people should not use the mod if they wanted to, but it’s pretty damned hypocritical to say that the OP can express his opinion that he would like to see the mod get updated while complaining that someone else would express their opinion that they would like to see the mod fade away into oblivion. If you can allow one person to express their opinion on the subject then you open the subject up to everyone to express their opinion on it regardless of the fact if YOU like it or not. And still, in spite of my opinion of the mod, I will never suggest that it should be banned in any way what so ever.
“I would love to see this mod disappear for good” don’t like it ? don’t play on servers that use it. Gosh, neopuritans are annoying.
Op: someone on the mod discord is working on update.
Holy crap… that is the only response needed to the thread. Good job, you win post of the day in my book.
Well, this went south fast.
I propose the following:
-
Cease arguing about intent and fault, it is a waste of resources and time
-
Define the parameters of your project
a) 18+ Mod
b) Skins/armor sets
c) Emotes
d) Placeables
e) Weapons/Tools
f) Crafting stations
g) Other items as defined/discovered -
Define the personnel of your project
a) Modders
b) Graphic support
c) Programming
d) Steam integration
e) Logistics -
Define the timeline of your project
a) Planning phase
b) Design phase
c) Creation phase
d) Testing phase
e) Release -
Plan a maintenance cycle
a) Define maintenance review timeline to identify issues
b) Create maintenance windows and communicate to user base
c) Integrate with Testlive environment to respond to game updates
Now, all this may be moot since there is an indication that the mod you like is being updated.
However, when faced with acrimony and accusation that is not aligned with your position, engaging the people looking for conflict is an unwise tactic.
Best of luck.
This mod has a very large following. If it were dead (which it has been shown not to be) it would not be because of lack of player interest, as you have insinuated.
Some people are aggressive and confrontational no matter what the topic is. Some people have also adopted the extremely rude habit of presenting their opinions as fact and shoving them in peoples faces. If you were to examine the post history of such a person, you would likely find that the majority of their posts are engineered to provoke arguments.
I have found it to be a waste of time responding to such people, because they will typically not be swayed by any sort of logical presentation. I suspect that such people are only seeking the meager adrenaline rush of arguing on the internet (ironic, considering the criticisms they usually fling at others). I suppose you could break that down to “Don’t feed the troll.”. That’s just my opinion though. Good luck.
Wow people have their panties in a twist over a little mod unreal.
Either load it don’t load it but don’t judge you repressed pinched up hypocrites. You have a choice there.
I wasn’t being sarcastic or anything, I really thought you had the best post by answering the OP in a short, direct msg which contained all the information he would need to be satisfied.
Oh man, Subotai tapping the soup server on the shoulder and slashing his throat when he turned around was epic!
Awesome movie. I love the kitchen soundtrack just before they walked onto the orgy. Basil Poledouris at his finest.
