Game mode: PVE - C Type of issue: BUG Server type: PVE - C Region: EU
[Describe the bug here]
When knocking out a named thrall (seems only to be an issue with named thralls) he dissappears into the ground instantly. You cannot bind him/her. Knocking out his mates around them, does not have the same effect, as long as he has no “named” friends around him. You have to walk out of rendering distance and come back, only then he/she appears consciousness on the floor where you knocked him/her out.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Knock out Named Thrall
He dissappears
Walk out of rendering distance
Come back to the spot where you knocked him out - and he/she is back there on the floor
The bug is only visual… If u go off render range and return , the thrall will be there sleeping and waiting for u to bind him… also a quick relog works… and exactly the same bug occurs when u tp with a thrall and somewhere in the way u loose rope (breaks, climb, accidentally equip shield/torch etc)… thrall is not visible , u need to go off render range and return on the spot where u lost ur rope… Thrall will be there… Hope it helps u next time
Its old, like three years old. Its some sort of physics glitch between the server and client. This is why walking away and coming back ‘fixes’ it. The thrall never moved, it just glitched on your end.
You can also log off and back in, I find that to be a bit quicker and safer than walking away and coming back.
I never spent any time on server until I started testing the experimental branch, but one of the times I was hunting for new thralls, I came back to find someone searching through my pile of applicants. It’s a valid concern.
Well that is wonderful for you really it is but it does not work every single time for everyone, go a head check the forums, it has been an issue for months and it still happens for some people every once in a while but saying it never happens to you is like trying to discount those who do have this issue.
And i aint try to “discount” noone (apparently i do not act in the way u would do such a thing)…
I am trying to give the ones who encounter it a solution so they get the thrall they hunted for…
Quite sure that OP did not knew about the render trick i adviced…
Also all I was doing was making sure they understood it did not always work and to be prepared to have lost the thrall for good. So guess we were both in our own way thing to prepare them for how ever it went.
