Simple fix all Pets and Thralls are classified as buildings so when building damage is off these aren’t useful outside PvE and PvC obviously PvE is fine but needs a maximum limit of thralls one can have to fight off the purge, obviously PvC is fun with no building damage but everyone has thralls that only provide use against the purge, obviously the massive amounts of thralls are causing lag and not decaying fast enough, so instead of them considered buildings remove that classification and allow them to is used for PvC that way fights are more fun.
Here is proof of me inside of my friends base after he punched me.
they acted as they would have when normal PvP occurred but because they are classified as buildings they can’t be stolen from they can’t be damaged with out building damaged enabled making them a huge lag if a single person decides they want over 100 thralls for there small over sized base. Obviously having the ability to attack them will reduce the amount of them substantially. Increases rendering and reduces lag.
Also my friend whom took the picture is not in a clan with me but at the same time even with being in a same clan they also seem to react like this with a accidental hit but don’t attack clan members.
We’re going to send note to our team so they can consider it. They’re also looking into ways of disposing of thralls in the future, which could alleviate this problem once/if it is implemented.
The best way to dispose of thralls is an option to free them. The thrall goes away from the character and return at his / her spawn point. Next time the character meet him / her, the former thrall will be hostile. Like he / she was the 1st time they met.
That would be GREAT! it would be enjoyable to actually have them fight along side me rather than just being there when I get attacked by another player, an more fun when I run in to someone’s base just for the giggles I could actually fight a massive swarm as they circled me so damn perfectly it was hilarious how they did that.
I appreciate you sending the note to the team thank you.
It’s not so much to dispose them as it’s to be able to kill them as some people over due it with thralls and a small home could host 30+ thralls causing lag spikes or rendering issues. That and If I walked in to your base I can just run up and kill you while your offline and steal your stuff during PvP times and if you didn’t store your stuff I can take all of it. Then walk out like a boss and use your world map and escape with little issue. That’s not how a base should be even in just regular PvP regardless of building damage being enabled or not.
But I do like that idea to get rid of older thralls I have no use for or no longer want. But I usually just bring them and let them die to a enemy. But your idea would be better.
I am not at my best yet coz I still have some fever, but if I understood you correctly, you mentioned that thralls and pets should only become hostile to players within the PvP window in the PvE-C servers? Since they are treated as buildings and without building damage enabled, they are rather difficult to take down beyond a PvP window, yes? If they don’t attack players (except within the window of opportunity), they are produced less?
Yes as they are considered buildings they are also unlovable making me realize on the PvC that everything is unlootable that is considered a building this is a issue in its self because of the amount people are using a single person has at least a 300 by 500 square castle while this is actually not my issue.
It was not a square ugly box just taking up land he actually made it look nice I was able to render it just fine but because he was near a good source of materials that I needed I walked down when rendering the MASSIVE amount of thralls he had in the castle and near by archer towers it substantially changed my rendering to a halt, shortly after I was lagging so bad that I couldn’t render the enemies I then was instantly killed shortly after I usually can fight enemies who have yet to render on my screen by the lock on system even if not rendered I can still hit them however that the lag was so bad my attacks didn’t properly work.
On the game Final Fantasy 14 they had the same issue and made a priority in the rendering Somehow that caused enemies to render before none hostile NPC, allies Pets, allies etc. This actually made the game substantially better for the individual player rather than seeing massive amount of other players during giant battles that usually involved a Mega boss.
While I don’t know If they can do the same thing due to the coding process this is also a alternative option for them should they not want to reclassify the pets and thralls as something else. I can say this though it would have made Being ambushed by a clan actually using a huge bag of loot to lure people in easier to deal with but I was looking for freya and ran away with my wolf instead. Lmfaoo also feel better @Fable
I still believe with our the food system the natural decay time varies based on private server and a 15 day period on official servers is more than enough to consider this suggestion as it’s a huge issue even I have become to understand that should be addressed before every server has more than it can physically handle.
Another solution on official servers is obviously increasing the purge rate and difficulty for people with a high amount of thralls obviously if they are present and they are actually devoted to making gear for the thralls they will be able to keep some but the most I see is a lot of thralls in basic fiber gear and some in regular medium gear as it’s the easiest to craft.
I am simply lucky all the people on the server I’m playing on are up north and I am in the jungle just fight back a guy who spams buildings all over the server some how.
I don’t even start playing until I refresh all my barriers and I should leave some posts near by for people actually wanting to take the land claim… now I think about it. Beware a guy called YOG… lol…
In Diablo 3 the Demon Hunter class can have multiple pets out at the same time and multiple Demon Hunters with all pets out brought clutter to the screen. They made the screen difficult enough to read, that is, to say the least. Issue was fixed by having pets become transparent enough toward other players, to not harm their ability to read the screen. We still see them, but they are truly transparent enough not to cause harm. Our own pets are still as visible as they are.
Your FF14 example is similar to this and your suggestion here aims at a similar approach too, yes?
I believe I understood you correctly then. Where have you learned English by the way? If I may, I advocate you to keep studying. Helps you to arrange your sentences and imbue them with more clarity.
