Hey, adept sorcerer here, are you not too vulnerable to gaz with your squishiest follower build? Take care ![]()
I know this is a slightly older guide but it was just what I needed coming back to Conan post-change to L20 AGI role no stamina on next hit.
I am trying out a hybrid of one of your styles and so far it’s proving adequate in PVE-C.
Hybrid Follower Corrupted Build
- 15 AGI
- 10 VIT / 9 Corrupted
- 15 AUTH / 15 Corrupted
- 20 Grit
I’m finding the steel thewed plus having 3 zombies out has boosted my survival in PVP quite a bit. Plus having their damage heal me is a nice bonus.
I was ambushed summoning my third zombie the other day and too a direct heavy hit from the summoned maul. I think we were both in shock that it didn’t one shot me. He paid for that attack.
I really appreciate the tip about the feast of yog/set for passive regen. I think that will come in handy.
Hey!
I’m happy to hear that the guide is still able to help people out with their builds!
That said, you’re correct. The guide is dated and Corrupted builds that don’t abuse game systems have become arguably harder to use than when I wrote this even.
Still, here we are trying to make them work for our own reasons!
Here’s some things that have come up since this guide was written:
—
Something that I was unaware of at the time of writing was that Steel Thewed has an interesting stacking effect with the corrupted Authority perk Flesh Bond. This may be a glitch, but since it does exist in game right now, it’s worth mentioning. I haven’t taken the time to see the exact math behind it, but it seems your max damage taken now becomes one third of your current health rather than your max health. What that ends up meaning is that in that you basically need at minimum 6 or 7 hits to die in any build outside of DOT effects.
Don’t forget that Cripple is technically a DOT effect, because as it ends, it deals one damage to your character. I have died from cripple itself several times.
To give an idea as to how this works, check out the below values, though keep in mind I’m 100% using incorrect math or lacking some knowledge of the exact interactions between perks, as I remember that you can only live through about 6 hits without healing, not the 12 I’m listing below (…and I have done no in-game testing since nearly a year ago, so I know something is off).
100 Health → 33 Damage → 67 Health
67 Health → 22 Damage → 45 Health
45 Health → 15 Damage → 30 Health
30 Health → 10 Damage → 20 Health
20 Health → 6 Damage → 14 Health
14 Health → 5 Damage → 9 Health
9 Health → 3 Damage → 6 Health
6 Health → 2 Damage → 4 Health
4 Health → 1 Damage → 3 Health
3 Health → 1 Damage → 2 Health
2 Health → 1 Damage → 1 Health
1 Health → 1 Damage → DEAD
Now since I mentioned that the math was off, I believe the effect may simply be that while you take the third of your max health damage on the first and second hits, you then take a max of half of your current health. This would look something like this:
100 Health → 33 Damage → 67 Health
67 Health → 33 Damage → 34 Health
34 Health → 17 Damage → 17 Health
17 Health → 9 Damage → 8 Health
8 Health → 4 Damage → 4 Health
4 Health → 2 Damage → 2 Health
2 Health → 1 Damage → 1 Health
1 Health → 1 Damage → DEAD
Again, I think this is still a little off, but it’s closer than the 12 hits from above to my actual experience in-game.

A couple other things that have changed is that the Grey Lotus potions now give you health when consumed but have no animation. They heal somewhere in the ballpark of 80 to100 HP per use (without Fast Healer), though they add a stack of drunk each consumption so bear that in mind.
Some people will look at the build listed above and the Grey Lotus healing as unintended effects or exploits, though it has been brought up and seems to either be intentional or simply unaddressed officially.

Still, with the knowledge of how these things work, it’s worth noting them as well as a few more things:
-
Having a build where you have 20 Strength and choose Blood-Mad Berserker leads to some interesting effects when you require several hits to be put down and say… Use a bandage that heals you faster than your opponent can deal damage during the last 25% of your health where you’re unable to be staggered out of the heal. It’s not perfect and doesn’t do much without a teammate/annoying thrall, but it can be a fun party trick that might just save your life.
-
The Flesh Bond perk also can have a weird interaction with certain Golem companions which causes enemy player attacks to bounce off of you as if you had blocked the attack. You still take the damage, but this can really put dagger spammers in their place.

Anyways, with the newest patch (12/09/2025) adding to the functionality of Sorcery, I’m cautiously optimistic about seeing further updates to the system to benefit players who use Corruption as a fighting build, though I’m also pretty happy with the benefits we have been afforded via quicker casting and the consolidated pouch system!
Yes, you absolutely are squishy against effects like gas. You should always keep a gas mask on you to deal with gas and pray that they don’t have acid. It’s a rough world out there, but just as you’re going to be caught off-guard by somebody coming at you with gas or acid from time to time, other players don’t take the big hits afforded by these builds either! It’s a matter of trying to use the tools the build offers while also absolutely being vulnerable yourself.
It’s worth mentioning that while effects like gas and acid deal flat amounts of damage (and therefore are incredibly strong against most of these builds), hot and cold damage effects are relative. This means that you can actually survive being in frostbite or heatstroke simply by eating a feast without a heating/cooling effect, as your healing will simply outpace the damage.
That’s really interesting! It always feel like there is a trade off now with corrupted builds. For example with the build I a testing my hand to hand hit survival is way up. But archers can hurt me pretty quick with the lower damage.
I typically like to use the summoned armor. Keeping the time up is so much harder when you have thralls taking the kills. It’s always fun to lose track of it and kind yourself naked.
I might have to go back to your balanced build tbh. The auth investment is pretty significant.
This thread is AWESOME!
