They definiteley need to do something, the end of this video is just insane.
Never seen something like that before.

I hope they‘re not just blowing hot air this time.

Yup. The first instant I saw chatter in global, about 2 weeks ago now, that a hacker stole the gear off a duo my clan and I popcorned everything and said CYA. That night they insta-killed all of our thralls.

Been monitoring the server and they haven’t been back since. According to sources those accounts were banned but that doesn’t matter of course. So waiting it out a bit more until I get back to it.

I felt nothing dropping everything, it felt more satisfying that they wouldn’t get it or have access to my character.

I saw the video too yesterday and my first thought was: “Okay, that’s why they want to concentrate on fixing stuff.”

I have advocated for an Age of Bugfixing for years and it is somewhat ironic that they apparently want to do something like that, after flagging and deleting my “Age of Atonement” thread.
Well, I hope that is what they are going for and not an “Age of Abandonment”…

I think funcom misread age of bug fixes for age for bug fixing.

I may have hallucinated it but I thought I had read about an update; small icecube fix, up coming???

Think the Dev’s should really think about a “Conan Exiles 2”.

they made a great game and really did not intend for it to be so big. So codeing is bad. and harder to add stuff to.

I think they should start a new conan with up-to-date tech and do it with the intention this game will be huge. they would make more money IMO on CE2 than dune.

Conan is a gem.

way to many shooters right now as is.

100% agree on that when dune have being out for sometime begin to think about create CE 2 will be amazing but in UE 5

Would be UE6 by then.

As I have said I fully expect funcom to do another Conan title once dune fai… gets established. But I don’t think it would be a remake of exiles. Old Conan players may not be so hot for a retread.

i hate the idea of reworking the conan exiles we have i will rather have they make a conan exiles 2

Question for FC folks.

I know you have repeatedly stated that due to how CE was developed with customization of UE4 that UE5 update was not in the cards due to the amount of work it would be and the halt of all planned content.

Well now with the halt of all planned content, will this idea be resurrected and potentially a rebuilding of the game with UE5 and developed with Game-as-a-service in mind (easy to update and add on)?

I agree. I think the “custom” part of the engine is the one that needs the most work anyway, so why not just rebuild it in UE5? If possible less “custom” and more “updateable”.
All assets and databases will still work, some shaders might break, but also the shaders could use a makeover.
And the blueprint code is the easiest to fix. Something like The Legend of Shem by DarthPhysicist is what I actually expected from Funcom.
Fixes, engine update, new map with UE5 fidelity - that appears as good as CE2 to me. You can call it CE2 and charge full price if you want. Then also use the new tech for the existing maps, maybe a Siptah + EL unification and I am perfectly happy.

I am aware that the current CE team is not big enough for such an endeavor. But I am also aware that after Dune: Awakening, Funcom will realize how much fun the Conan franchise is in comparison in no time.

It was what I saw about when that got me thinking UE5 again .

This one must disagree.

Who is going to purchase that game?
With Funcom’s track record, who is going to invest again, knowing how they are jank mongers?
Conan Exiles isn’t the first game they have had launch strong (altho it is the strongest they have had) and then they, thru a special blend of malign neglect and malicious deliberation, drove into the ground.

The only way this one would consider purchasing a Conan Exiles 2 is if it was coming from a different studio.

They may want to think about repairing their reputation and relationships with their customers before trying to sell a new product.

I’ve read this same thing; although written quite differently, posted by a few people that have played previous funcom titles. This is just SOP for funcom development. I don’t see Dune being any different.

I was hot on Dune at first, but the more I learned, the more funcom made me, a Conan player, feel like the foster kid in the basement they collect the check for, the less interested I was.

I was ready to drop $20 on the game; I’d expect to catch it on sale in the first 6 months. Not now. Not going through this same funcom developmental cycle in another game.

I hope this does fix the bugs and I can go back to playing one of my favorite games.

there was a hotfix january 30, see it o X, dont know if they posted it on this forum, Conan Exiles - Hotfix: 30 January 2025 - Steam News

It probably doesn’t.

If you ever want to install older versions of the game that won’t have today’s plethora of bugs and other issues here’s a great post on Steam that explains how to do it:

Just all the bugs that have been fixed since.

Have you managed it yet or still waiting for funcom to do it for you?

None the less I’m back to where I was at 2.2 when I quit last time and spent 2 years? playing BRs. The game is stagnating once again. I do not need a regular drop of content, but regular bug fixes are forward momentum; not an every other month a itty bitty patch.

What I saw in that patch looked like a couple weeks work of a few people in their off hours.
