The sandstorm is a living thing summoned from the ether by foul sorceries. Bound here by the same dark rituals. It escaped the bonds of it’s master’s eons ago and knows nothing more than an ageless nameless hunger. The first portal appeared as a giant hole in a wall at Sepermeru. The exiles, not knowing what sorcery may have caused it, just stayed clear and learned to live with it. But then a second, third and more began to appear around the land. More powerful, glowing as if they had a life of their own.
Then they noticed the sandstorm grew stronger, almost as if in a rage with itself. Finally, it came… the voice of the resurrected black wizard. The voice came riding on the sandstorm. The voice of Xaltotun. His voice boomed across the sands and the portals came to life as he summoned beings to aid his quest; Trolls… Snake men… Sorcerers… all pulled through the strange portals into the exile lands to fight for the black wizard. Such an onrush of enemies would have overtaken Conan in a short amount of time, but those trapped with the green barrier were not without skills of their own.
They fought the beings alongside Conan driving them back.Most of them slaughtered, some withdrew back into the portals, some stay hiding within the lands. Over time the people found ways to manipulate the portals, they created 8 duplicates and use them as doorways to reach the main town of Fayport and back again.The portals, being created for evil, turned into a wonderful serendipity. But each time the living sandstorm blows through… more beings are pulled into the lands… What will you do? How will your story be written? Will you arrive on a cross and battle the dark forces? Or battle for Xaltotun until he returns?
