Bug Description:

server crash when you attempt to place any door


Bug Reproduction:

Build a standard single door sandstone doorway. Attempt to place a standed single wooden door. Server crashes. Happens with modded or vanilla doors.

Will try to do more testing in the morning…it’s 4:30am and I’m going to bed. I am the server admin and I was the only one online on that server when I caused several crashes just trying to put doors on the base I’m building. Very likely to be one of the mods that affects doors, but I’m not testing that now, at this time.

Can you, please, remove the mods to see if this is still happening?

It’s Pythagoras: Expanded Building (2723987721). Word is that Funcom deleted a node several nodes that the function of the double doors in that mod uses, so attempting to place doors, or interact with them in any building function way (even just using the build hammer) will cause crashes. A bandaid fix is on the way, but the original functionality is busted.

Annd…by the time I got up they (PEB modders) released a quick hotfix for it, but called out Funcom and what they could do to resolve it.

Yeah I figured it was probably something like that.

Patch notes from the patch of PEB that just dropped (copying here in hopes Funcom decides to help a modder out):

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
Temporary fix to resolve a crashing issue with door frames. However, only the 1x1 door frames will currently work correctly. All existing doors (all of them) will be resized to a 1x1 door size. Gates will also look broken until a permanent fix is found. This is our very fast, stop people from crashing temp fix. So visual issues with anything classified as a door are expected.
Further explanation: Funcom went out of their way to hide an exposed break node that’s been available for years that this mod relies on. Either they need to fix it, or we’ll need to completely overhaul how the code works. Both scenarios will likely take time, no ETA.

This definitely narrows down the list of mods to pull to test if it’s actually reproducible.
