Server doesn't boot after Hotfix

Do you know a script to do this? I removed AoC

Thanks for the confirmation! I haven’t attempted to boot my server this morning (I already had it up when patch hit yesterday and I have auto-update turned off) but my particular server is a new set-up so I don’t anticipate issues.

I do know the Admins United discord server does have wipe scripts for different mods (and I think a template as well) that you could check out but the admin doing it would need to be comfortable doing the db edits with SQL.

My server is rented in GTX Gaming
My server using mod
I already remove some outdate mod in the past

How to remove assets from the db for the removed mods ?

And why is happening this now?

Honestly, I have no idea. I’m not sure if the servers always looked for old code but handled it more efficiently and now we’re just seeing more verbose logging that’s exposing it or if this is entirely new.

I do hope that Funcom can fix whatever it is but, in the meantime, I figured I’d toss out some things to consider, see if we can determine any commonalities, and see if anyone who does a script wipe of old mods sees some improvement (for those that are able/willing to try).

So this seems to happen to several different people with different mods, always with a fairly old database.

I don’t know if there might be a mod they have in common, but I’m not sure Funcom will do anything given they redirect support requests to a private discord whenever mods are mentioned >.<

That being said the aforementioned discord does have SQL scripts to clean up traces of old mods from the database, so I’m sure it’s possible to do a cleanup and bring things back to normal, but it might take a while and there’s only so many people who know how to write those.

The servers I play do regular wipes so yeah, they won’t suffer from that. Just like my test server.

It’s not affecting only those servers using mods.
It’s apparently affecting my private server too and we’re not using mods.

There are a lot of issues with clean installs, which are not prone to mod problems either. Just start using the server and it shows.

  • Dedicated server
  • Yes
  • No, this is a new server in setup stages so the few mods installed are the ones being used for setup and no others have been added/removed

Server did auto-update (even though I had the settings to not do this) and, when booting, I experienced the same errors as have been reported by others, namely: NPC:Error: Data: No stat templates found for StatModifier template None . Server did boot, but in approximately 15 minutes opposed to the 1-2 minutes it took prior to this hotifx.

Will now have to update client game and mods to current versions and check connection.

I was thinking the same thing but my own test case seems to have disproved this. My server is about a week old as I am still in setup phase. Still got the same types of errors though resolving/loading was still faster than others have reported. So, at this point, I’m not entirely sure.

It’s not a Mod issue.

I’ve done so many tests and to prove it’s not a mod issue is simple.

Install a new server software, start it, stop it when loaded, put in your mod list as you always do. No issues what so ever. it will start as it always have.

Now. Remove all the mod’s from the mod list.
Add and “old” DB to the game and start it.
Now you will get the None issues.

So long as you use an OLD DB, regardless if you have an empty mod list or not, you will suffer from this.

The only way I’ve found that don’t have it, is a CLEAN server.
IE Total wipe, delete it ALL, and install a new one with as many mod’s you like and you won’t have this issue.

You do LOSE it all tho.

So to sum it up, if you EVER have had ANY mod on your server before the hotfix, you will get the None Issue.

3 Computers later, 3 different servers, mix of hardware and still the same issue, so it’s not a hardware issue either.

So long as you use an old db that have been using mods in the past, you will suffer plain and simple.

This is a pure FC issue

Can confirm on a long standing server, boot up due to these 60-90 second resoltuions per package takes a startup up to like 55 min (on my end) have seen reprots in range of 30-60+ min.

Also noticed it’s not just mods that add to the issue, SIPTAH DLC package triggers a validation as well, so can’t blame just mods when your own packages have same issue.

+20 min startup, Sapphire map, heavy modlist, we did indeed remove some mods in the past, so it can be what Cardinal says.

I’m running two heavily modded servers, one Exiled Lands, one Siptah. Siptah’s boot time is completely normal (it has never had any mods removed, just added) but the EL server takes about 45 minutes now, and has nine of the “none” log entries adding 70-90 seconds of load time per item, and 14 removed mods:

I can’t add some of these back - they break everything - so I guess I’m stuck waiting for Funcom to address the matter.

And do you think it is possible if a database saved before the update is loaded? Would a rollback be possible?

the relevant entries are in the table actor_position of the game.db

with 81 matches my single player game needs more than 20 minutes to load. after removing all the entries of removed mods from the table the single player game starts in seconds

it’s not really a game.db issue. it’s some kind of new logic added with the latest hotfix. this logic tries to find missing blueprints that are referenced in the game.db

my guess: this new logic was added for the missing barkeepers

My Savage Wilds servers are affected by this as well and yes we have removed some mods in the recent past.

How to removing all the entries of removed mods. Im already remove some outdate mod in the past

  • download a database tool for SQLite (e.g. DB Browser for SQLite => https://sqlitebrowser.org/)
  • stop your server/game and download your game.db
  • save a backup of this unmodified game.db in case you messed it up
  • open it in the db browser
  • go to the table actor_position
  • sort by column class and search for entries that start with /Game/Mods/
  • delete all rows of old mods
  • save the game.db
  • upload it to your server/copy into your game and start again

be aware: this will not remove all kind of data related to the removed entries. this is really only a quickfix if you can’t wait for a robust solution or a fix from funcom

thank you for linking this. Has it been tested by anyone in the community? Does it work? Its really both amazing and a shame that the community has to rally together to find workarounds to issues introduced by Funcom. It goes to show just how LOVED this game is and how much the community is behind it.

It truly is a fantastic game and allows for such creativity and entertainment. So Funcom, you are getting a TON of (perhaps well-deserved) flack but we DO love this game. Keep at it. Fix it and you could have something that is truly incredible.
