Our server would not restart as well. The DL of the hot fix on steam took much longer than the update on G-portal. The hot fix may not be applying to servers correctly.

Same here, with the same errors as well as everything taking 10 times as long…
Left the Server to boot overnight… 5 hours later it did…
Even booting with no mods loaded causes a significant increase in load times. Spend most of yesterday removing a mod, rebooting… remove mod… rebooting to see If I could identify the culprit, Nope… did not work…

Not sure I have the heart to carry on

it’s the Game DB where the issue is, or something FC changed in the update.

It’s not a pure Mod issue since without anything old, same mods, the server boots in 10 min on a test server.

I get this in my error log.

[2024.11.05-08.30.03:141][ 0]LogStreaming:Error: Couldn’t find file for package /Game/Mods/Boot_Camp_Of_Pain/Cust_BP/CrossOfPain/BP_PL_XofPain requested by async loading code. NameToLoad: /Game/Mods/Boot_Camp_Of_Pain/Cust_BP/CrossOfPain/BP_PL_XofPain
[2024.11.05-08.30.03:141][ 0]LogStreaming:Error: Found 0 dependent packages…

that Mod ain’t there anymore, still the game looking for it.

I know someone that used a backup DB that worked, but that sadly is like wipe the server

I posted this somewhere else but I’ll post it here too.

I was looking again at the logs and saw entries again, like these:

These are all mods that I had but no longer have. So I dug down into steamapps > workshop > content > 440900 on the dedicated server folder, program files folder and the program files folder on the laptop that connects to the server desktop via LAN and saw that in each instance there were old mod folders. I compared them to the specific line by line modlist items that I have and removed the old ones.

All folders now are identical but upon reboot I still see those errors listed above. So I’m really confused.

I’ll do the same thing on my wife’s comp to see if it has anything old on it.

I’m not sure if this is related but I am learning that when a mod is no longer subscribed to, doesn’t remove it completely.

IF the server at any given point in time have had mods on it.

You will have this issue, I’ve proven that in another thread here.

The mod list is clean, but that server software have had mods in the past.

Even when booting a clean server with no mods in the list the None issue is still there, and atm it’s 35 min and counting to start.

With nada, zero, none, blank mod list…

I sincerely hope they can fix this issue. I don’t even want to think about needing to do a server restart from scratch. That is a scary proposition. I can’t imagine having to start this all again. There are thousands of hours in here and reproducing the builds that we have, getting all of the characters back would be horrible to have to go through. :man_facepalming:t6:

I don’t think many would have the heart to start again like that, let alone build the additional quests, encounters, raids, NPC, dialogue and writing ++more again Esp not in a 7 year old game…

yeah.

I tested the “new” one that does work, if you wipe all and add back the mod’s.

But as one last thing I added back the old live DB too it, took 3 min and then the None issue came up so that’s not working.

And as you pointed out, starting over ain’t an option for most of us.

But I had to give it a try and rule that out too just to make sure.

Yeah, even if you have admin and can “cheat” it all back it still hours and hours to get it even remotely back.

So yeah that’s a non starter.

It would be pretty devastating. I mean, not to be hyperbolic or anything, but in the context of playing Conan Exiles and loving the game so much despite its issues and having built up such a form go-to entertainment source, it would definitely be pretty devastating. We like the game so much we purchased a whole set up for it. Two towers and a laptop over the years of our play.

Sure, we would search for and find another game or something but we have a LOT invested in CE. If it comes to that, we (and I am sure many long time players) would have a choice to make for sure. Either that or conceive of some cataclysm in our world that resulted in this need to start again. She proposed that last night as a thought.

Fix this Funcom.

I feel very much the same. IF… IF i had to I would set the server up to boot overnight on a set day. give people until a mod updated to take screens and preserve the memories, and then just… with a sad heart leave. Never to buy or recommend a funcom product again…

I won’t start over again that’s for sure.

As for the person that claim it works for him.

I’m now testing on a 3rd computer and see if that will make a difference, can’t see it will but why the heck not.

So do I

We should wait new hot fix ?

If you want to keep your current database, and all the effort people put into what it contains it seems waiting for a fix is the only option atm :frowning:

Can those that are having issues confirm a few things:

  • What type of server (rented or dedicated)?
  • Does your server use mods?
  • If yes to the above, have you removed mods in the past?

From all accounts I have seen, this is somewhat related to mods. The mods themselves are not the problem but if you have used mods and then removed them, the game is now looking for references that no longer exist. People with newer dbs or those with old ones where the mod list has never had a mod removed seem to be okay.

If you fall into this category, it might be worth attempting a wipe script to remove assets from the db for the removed mods.

  1. Dedicated Private Server v 1.7.9
  2. We have 14 mods
  3. We have removed mods in the past and it is searching for assets from those mods

We’ll wait and hope for a fix. Unfortunately, we don’t know how to perform a wipe script to remove previously removed assets from the game db file.

Let’s hope we hear something soon about this problem.
