These logs are insane on test client

A clean install in a test PC with basically only steam and Conan Exiles is getting an insane number of errors on the SOS (Smart Object System).

To each action it does, there are around 5 error messages indicating that something is “invalid” in the logs, or there isnt an entry in a table for it.

Test clients are test clients, and therefore you cant expect they will run smoothly, but if there is something to be expecting is that the same way the “worse launch ever” in Conan Exiles history was following the “worse sizeable error log ever” in the Conan Exiles test client.

I am really inclined to think using artisans at all will be very rocky for some months before it gets to the point it is expected.

So it isn’t our systems then?

Correct.

I run the test server app on an old laptop next to my main setup and can watch in real time the massive amount of errors.

Sorry to hear of the issues you’re having with log spam, would you be able to paste some of the errors, and any actions you and/or thralls were taking at the time?

Component archetype is not the CDO nor a default subobject of my class.

Is one that repeats like “there is no tomorrow” for something either related to BuildingBase, ConanGameMode or AIController.

There are hundreds of lines on those for a test gameplay of couple minutes.
At that, this is not actually something new in the face value of logs. If I run my production game with default log settings, a 1h game session on a not modded game will render the log so big it starts to hinder performance. We have guides in Steam teaching how to stop logging from happening to make performance better. I know it might not be interesting to remove all logs, but frankly “array of XXX has no index N” is a kind of error that should not be passed to the player, like many others, if the devs will use Get from array cavalierly without checking “Is Index Valid” beforehand. That aside, which is something that does not really mean anything for the game itself, just that someone is looking for a headache of their own design in the dev team, the errors are indeed important to see and they mean something.

Sprinkled between the hundreds of lines like I said above, there are some few dozen lines saying about something missing on a table, like emotes or armor. Those indeed might be just clean up required for launch, HOWEVER, all the lines that look like clean up before launch in “Ages past” (pun intended) have remained in the production game afterwards.

You know what would be even more useful than a couple of vague, hand-wavy, detail-deficient sentences buried in the middle of a bunch of speculation and preaching? Actually pasting some log excerpts, like the QA rep asked:

You could even attach the log as a file if you don’t want to cut and paste excerpts.

As a bonus, you could even describe what was happening in-game during the time covered by the logging information you provided. You know, like the QA rep asked:

Or you could just post stuff that might be marginally useful despite your best effort and, if it isn’t good enough, never hear from them again

On the bright side, at least you haven’t blocked them yet
