This has been a problem, years long running and is the #1 reason outside of cheaters is why the multiplayer scene completely died out and that is the terrible ping that is happening with these servers. I had hope that with the update these issues would be fixed, but nothing has changed at all, players, npcs, and animals are all sliding over the place, doors opening and closing are delayed, rubberbanding while trying to move and climb, it is making the game unplayable. The games content is fine, this is the only thing that is preventing this game from being good.
I agree! It is so ridiculous! There is no excuse for this game to be behaving this way this far into it’s existence.
And for those that love making excuses by packing it off onto “it’s the internet” or “it must be your PC.” My internet is a 1GB Fiber Optic and my PC meets all required specs and then some. So there’s no excuses.
Funcom needs to fix the server issues. I just started playing this game on PC. All of a sudden I favorite 1 official server I’ve started on that “had” really low ping but magically has high ping and somehow it says I have thousands of servers favorited and “have visited” thousands of servers. Which is FALSE… the server I’ve been playing on for the past few days for the first time with this game. The server said LOW PING but it’s randomly crashing with less than 10 people… then the system removes the server from favorites over and over. Searching the server oftentimes doesn’t show the server. I restart the game over and over. Then the server may magically appear with 9999 ping…
Lastly, the animals, NPC’s, insects, and the player character “bobbing” around or “rubberbanding” and the doors opening or closing in delay. In fights the enemies “popping around” magically damaging me or even killing me. Another issue I’ve ran into is having a bed in my house as my respawn point. But if I die my bed will not appear as a respawn and the game won’t let me respawn anywhere but at the beginning of the game in the desert. It’s DISGUSTING with all this going on. They want to encourage us to play with other players. But when we try the systems punish us. And if you tell other players you feel like playing single player because this is not right. They just shrug it off and say “yeah probably best until things die down.” And then immediately veer off to chat with other players about “how awesome everything looks! Yeah!!!” It’s ridiculous that an old system is just painted over and we’re expected to be happy with a new look but still have to deal with a janky broken system.
FUNCOM please for the love of humanity stop making excuses and ignoring this…

A server #1502 I play on, when trying to join and the server being at 17 players OUT OF 40 SLOTS! The ping is past 300+. This is DISGUSTING on "Fun"coms part… PUBLIC SERVERS are UNPLAYABLE with these DISCOUNT servers. Playing with around 10 people or less there’s popcorning NPCs, enemies teleport all around while fighting, and when running around with others they are popcorning everywhere. More than 5 people in one spot crashes the whole server… this is so wild and stupid. Even Private GPortal servers are this way as well. So it has nothing to do with people’s “hardware” or “internet” or “verifying the integrity of game files” or whatever other excuse people from any side comes up with.
Funcom you’ve MADE MILLIONS from us. Enough with worrying about graphics updates, bazaar items added, or cosmetic DLCs for right now. Get better servers and optimize the game.
There does seems to be severe client to server and server to client issues. Not a networking expert, but it does seem that once again doors, climbing, and character (npc or player) pathing is being affected to a great degree.
