Singleplayer / Solo - Character Creation with "continue" option

Every time I want to continue my solo game since the latest hotfix, I’m asked to create a new character. If I leave the game and return, the problem persists. If I create a new character, exit the game and return, again I am asked to create a new character. There seems to be no way of keeping any progression, even if I replace the game.db file with a backup prior to the painful update of June the 16th.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Launch the game
  2. “Continue” singleplayer
  3. Bug happens here: asked to create a new character and new character doesn’t save either. I even tried “new game”, but the same thing happens, when I go back, I’m asked to create a new character.

Oddly enough, my whole ConanSandbox folder was set to “read only” (change I never made). This way, I am able to retrieve some on my backup game. Unsure still if it saves the progress as I did not have the time to test it, but my latest save game for sure is impossible to use. “Continue” keeps prompting me to create a new character. Even if I do create a new one, the new one don’t save either…

I’ve notice now that the default name of my character at character creation isn’t “[SteamNickname]” anymore but “[SteamNickname][#00000]” (0s are other numbers).

Maybe it is related?
