Sorcery is not working for me because I use custom keybinds.
Here’s how I understand it works:
With the staff equipped, use light attack or heavy attack to summon the runes.
Then use light attack to select a rune, or right click to dismiss the runes.
After selecting a rune, use light attack to choose a spell, or right click to dismiss the spells.
Now imagine for a second that you have light attack bound to RMB (as I do). You will quickly see that you can’t select a spell, because if you press RMB then the spell is cancelled, but the only way to cast the spell is to use light attack … which is bound to RMB.
The problem is the inconsistency in control determination - one is based on player keybind, and the other is hard coded to a specific input. In other words, heavy attack and RMB are not the same thing for every player but the game seems to assume it is.
What it should be:
With the staff equipped, use light attack or heavy attack to summon the runes.
Then use light attack to select a rune, or heavy attack to dismiss the runes.
After selecting a rune, use light attack to choose a spell, or heavy attack to dismiss the spells.
I have had my mouse buttons swapped in this game for over 400 hours with no issues … but now if I want to use sorcery I have to change them back to default. Not really excited to relearn the controls I’ve been using for 400 hours.
If I’m mistaken and the “cancel spell” command is not RMB but some other keybind I can change, please let me know. Thank you.
