Is there a reliable workaround for this? It always seems to happen at the worst possible time, and usually after climbing or jumping. I’ve tried equipping a bow, hitting 1st person, opening my inventory or knowledge windows, but nothing short of logging out has worked reliably. Is there a known workaround that I just haven’t heard about or tried yet? Thanks for any suggestions.
I had to draw a weapon, lock on to an enemy;{E}, attack, and unlock.

I’ve tried that and it does sometimes work. The problem is that it’s entirely unpredictable what works and what doesn’t. Last night I got stuck and was able to get unstuck by simply hitting the so-called “vanity camera” (which for me is V). This is why I asked for a reliable workaround, it’s just too random having to go through all these attempts while you’re in battle, for example.
Thanks for the suggestion, though, and I’ll keep searching. Will let you know what I find out here in this thread (if it hasn’t been closed by then).
This one has found climbing something usually does the trick.
Of course, that may be suicide in the middle of a battle.
An extremely vexatious bug.
